Paul Johnson is schooling Miami on option football. I doubt if any Miami player has ever seen the option and I doubt if Shannon has ever coached against an option team. Paul Johnson's option is not the one you want to go to school on.

Miami has a lot of good young players on defense, they just can't maintain the focus that you have to have on each play against a Johnson option.

    LOL!!

Amazing, this same Miami defense held the Gators to less than 100 yds rushing and are probably going to give up 450 yds to Ga.Tech.

Pathetic. They're lucky that they're not playing Navy. They'd keep it closer but still be ripped like they are by Ga. Tech.

Wasn't that a thing of Beauty...

I wonder if Pellini said no, if Johnson would have been the next pick?

That spread option we saw last night was similar to what Osborne wanted to go with at NU. Dr. Tom said in an Interview at Haltime last week, that he liked what Urban Meyer was doing at Utah, and gave Urban a compliment by saying he wishes he would have thought of that 1st.

Thanks for remembering that, Terry. Fortunately, it seems the UF run offense and the UM run defense headed in different directions after that early September game.

Just a note re the impact of last night's game ...... miami's run defense ranking effectively dropped from #19 in the nation (107 ypg) to #62 (140 ypg).

That type of offense has to be the hardest type for a team to get ready for. They sure schooled Miami in it last night.

The thing that struck me as odd, is that they kept putting up that graphic showing the top 3 rushing teams against Miami in history. #1 was some team (Army?) in the 40's (jif will have to help me here) but #2 was the 1973 Notre Dame team, and they had Tech at #3. They kept talking about the 1940's team and never even mentioned the Notre Dame team, which given the lack of a running game under Charlie you would have thought would generate some interesting comments. But they just didn't want to say anything about Notre Dame. Of course maybe I'm too sensitive!! :)

I was just hoping it would draw Gonzo into a response :D

Corey, you really expect Gonzo to come back with a response after Miami got thrashed like that during the same season where they lost to Florida and FSU?

Actually if his son is still at FSU he might be rooting for them now. That would be unique, having a Nole fan here. :)

    Bill,

Ha! I had forgotten about the FSU angle with his son.

As for his posting.. I didn't think it was likely, I was just hoping :D
