I'm silently watching this one with fingers crossed while online.. I got USC-Stanford and Bama/MSU on the tube. Even if the Tigers rally, this doesn't help the SEC ubber alles crowd this year. Which of course, is why I like to play the games... Anyway, I'm going back to the 'triple upset watch'
Hard to imagine that will stand but still.... USC starting to get the upper hand vs Stanford, but I'll give Stanford credit they have played them very tough. That white RB, looked good against ND, and has made some plays tonight as well. Alabama/MSU don't know what to think about that one, Bama seems to play just as well as they need to win. Exact opposite of UF.
whoa 31-3 Troy now... LSU a great example of the tough defenses that we don't have in the B12!!
Can you believe that LSU has now scored 30 unanswered to go on top by 2 points with 4:50 left in the game?
I was shocked to see LSU down by 14 points, when I checked the scores last night, prior to games end. Almost as shocked when I learned LSU had scored twice in the last period. My confidence points soared with the LSU victory, so I cannot complain! Don
When I tuned in at 31-3 the LSU season was on life support. The whole place seemed moribund and hung over from the OT loss to Alabama last week. Then....some fire was rekindled in the hearts of the players and they restored order......amazing!
This year's SEC is similar to the old Big 10 with OSU, MI, and everybody else. There are only two high calibre teams in the SEC this year. The rest are mediocre at best. The intraleague competition in the SEC this year is not up to what it's been in the past.
I have to say Georgia is still a pretty good team and could have been better except for a rash of injuries. The Dawgs have some very high caliber players. The only team really trashing the rest of the conference is Florida so if you think Bama is very high caliber also then some of the teams they have played close must not be all that bad.....right?
"I have to say Georgia is still a pretty good team and could have been better EXCEPT for a rash of injuries." And if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass when he jumps... The SEC isn't as good this year as it has been, end of story. READ IT, LEARN IT, LIVE IT...
In the bowls this year I love Georgia big over MSU. I think SouCar will fare well in the Outback vs. their Big Ten opponent....at least be very competitive. The only mismatch could be LSU in the Cotton Bowl vs. what should be a top 8 ranked Big 12 team. Love the Big 12 in that one. Otherwise in all the lesser bowls the SEC will win it's share and Bama or Fla in the Sugar Bowl will be hard to beat. Give me the blues about the SEC after the bowls if the above doesn't pan out.
I really hate these bowl ties. I'd love to see the whole system opened up a bit more. MCG talks about favorable matchups vs the Big10, and while I think that is true, I'd love to see some other folks get on the field with Georgia's boys. It's a shame that they leave the south only to get ASU in a year in which they are 3rd to worst... Maybe the NC game will force a tossed salad of mixed bowl matchups this year..
