Calloway has won a lawsuit against the Titleist ProV1 series and a judge has issued an order for the cessation of sales after Jan 1. So gipper and a HuskermanHuskerfan will have to load up on ProV1's. I am wondering if there will be a fire sale to get rid of the offending inventory? 20$ a box ProV1's hell even I could play them!! ProV1 Lawsuit
Considering how I played today at Troon North, I should be hitting featheries. They don't go as far into the snake country.
Troon North from the Gold tees has a slope of 137, that's rough. I don't think I play anything tougher than 126.
I'm not sure what the temp was today but there were plenty of glofers who were wearing shorts. I'd guess it was about 78. I did a favor for a friend of my wife and represented her in a traffic matter. Turns out her bro.-in-law is the COO of a number of nice courses. Got comped today and am playing Talking Stick tomorrow. Meanwhile Mary's at a conference. I'm nothing but arm candy
Everybody's thinking. It's not a thinking mans game gents. The most dangerous 6 inches in golf rest's between the ears. Hit it, find it, hit it again. Best ball for distance is the PV2. Best Ball for spin is the Callaway HX Tour 56. How's the turf out there Gip? Did you need to put your low bounce wedges in your bag?
I'm with Gipper, I usually shoot in the mid to high 70's....anything warmer than that I go back to the clubhouse and drink.
I bought a box of Callaway Tour 1 just for the heck of it to see what it's like to hit a tour ball. It felt like I was hitting a rock and theydidn't go very far!! I guess my 85 mph swing just doesn't cut it. BTW what's a PV2?
You know I might just do that AJ, I've been playing the NXT and they don't make it anymore, and I tried the NXT Extreme and liked it but it might a little pricey for my game. Tried the Bridgestone e6 and that was nice but I lost some distance. Just having a ball called the Freak might be just what I need!! I've been thinking of trying the HX Hot Bite also, what do you think of that ball?
If you in fact have a slow swing speed, then obviously you'll want a low compression ball. What YOU need at your age and range of motion (Sorry Doc, your gettin' old) is: Driver: 10* or Higher loft - Mid to High kick point (Preferebly Mid) Ball: Try a sleeve each of these - Nike MOJO or the NOODLE Both Balls are low compression and give excellent spin for a low compression ball. My son uses these and I can guarantee he swings harder than you.
10.5 driver Check High Kick Shaft Check was fitted on launch monitor. I've tried the Noodle and I liked it, but I just can't play with a ball called a Noodle. I tried the MOJO awhile ago but I don't remember much about wheter I liked it or not.
AJ the turf is OK. Troon is about a month from turnover and we played at 90 degrees with the carts yesterday. The only low bounce wedge I carry is my lob wedge and I didn't hit it yesterday. I've been using NXT tours lately instead of Pro Vs. Don't notice much difference except the price. It was 79 here today. Shot the temp.
