If you watched Corwin Browns press conference, you know he is pissed off with the Irish defensive effort vs Pitt and is kicking some ass and taking names.

I think the Irish come out fired up and ready to play.

To get the weekend off to a good start, Shaq Evans committed to the Irish today. That gives us two great WR's in this class, and Evans is a kid who could start in the first game for the Irish, he's that good.

Mike Frank predicts a close Irish Victory and John Vannie predicts a close Irish loss, postulating that BC just wants the win more...

    ND/bc

<r>I don't buy the "BC wanting the game more" this year. I think it is the opposite now. After beating the Irish on a regular basis the past few years and now ND coming off a heart breaking loss last week, I can't imagine BC wanting this more than ND does. Beside, most of the kids on the ND squad don't know much about the recent history of ND/BC. <E>8)</E></r>

After last week, I just can't get a good handle on this team. I think that they are regressing. The offense in the second half of the last two games has been pretty pathetic. It's not only the execution but also some of the play calling.
Did CW indicate that Clausen is a little dinged up?

    Gip,

Here is an excerpt from today's FW Journal-Gazette which speaks to your point about the fall-off in the second half of games this year. The two players quoted acknowledge the problem. I sure hope the focus in practice enables the team to overcome its second half complacency.

    I've about had it.
    Blocked punts 2 weeks in a row....unacceptable.
Start of the second half, defensive stop and then give the ball back to the opponent (last week personal foul, this week muffed punt.)
    5 turn overs.
D gives up 10 pts. and we lost by 3 scores.
Holding blocks, chop blocks, and missed blocks, our O line does it all. The QB play was awful, but then I remembered who the QB coach was.
Oh almost forgot, for the second week in a row, 4th down play with a pass short of the first down marker. If you're going to be that stupid, fuckin punt.

Just a terrible loss. The defense played well enough to win. Very discouraging. I don't know what's wrong with this team. It's not youth at this point in the season.

    Seriously, I fear Navy.

The calls for Charlie's head are loud and long this morning after that absolutely gutless performance last night.

    Navy will kick our ass.

    After...

<t>The Pitt game I said I can no longer defend CW. For my peace of mind I was in Dallas all weekend attending a function so did not see the game. Thanks GOD !! After reading the game stories I say give this guy one more year and depending on the way it goes pull the plug on him and the entire staff unless they somehow have a real good year. <br/>
Problem is they are so average where do you start? Claussen gets worse by the game and this O-Line is beyond words at how bad they are.<br/>
    What a sad situation.</t>
