After reading all of this topic and MCG's astute analysis I predict that the game will be 0 - 0, go into overtime and neither team will be able to score by this time next week. The NCAA goes into emergency session to determine how to decide the game. They decide that the game will be played over as the BCS Championship game in January in Miami. The whole SEC goes into shock and cancels football forever. The PAC 10 sensing opportunity contacts CBS about filling the void the SEC left and scheduling half their games in the Swamp and other southern stadiums. The Stock market seeing this as a boon to the economy with all the travel of fans and all recovers, doubling in a week. Alabama and Florida decline letting their stadiums being used for other football games. Alabama decides to sell out their stadium every week by showing The Bear games on the big screen every Sat. Florida picks up on this and decide to do the same in the Swamp with all Gator Games since the real start of Florida football, 1990 when Spurrier arrived. All Gator games since 1990 with the exception of the Zook era will be shown on the big screen in the Swamp. Gator fans and Tide fans are estatic. And life goes on!!!
A further update to my prediction. MCG is hired to give his insightful analysis at the Championship game between Penn State and Ohio State in Miami.
Bill, if the game is a close one in Columbus with a Buckeye win, don't be surprised to see a groundswell of support for a rematch for the title in Miami.....as there should be! 8)
Here's some trivia that I heard yesterday. In the last 40 years only 1 Div1A team has not had a 4 game losing streak. That team is Ohio State. Pretty impressive.
Terry, but if the game goes to Miami is still 0 - 0 when we are ready to start the 2009 season, what do we do then????   Inquiring minds want to know!
TOK, I'm pretty sure that is one of the things about which you are supposed to remain silent......sorta like a pitcher spinning a no-no in baseball. Nobdody wants to sit near him in the dugout.....as always we thank you for your support!!
Well.....my insightful analysis says that a whole wad of teams up in the top 10 would have fall flat....really flat on their a** before that could happen.
Robert Smith, former OSU RB and ESPN commentator says it's Penn State. Said 1. OSU offense lacks imagination 2. OSU OL is weak 3. OSU DL is weak Didn't give much creedance to last weeks beatdown of MSU on the road.
Penn State wins over the Buckeyes in a defensive struggle 13-6. No complaints here, as Penn State played error free football and scored the only TD of the game, following Pryor's fumble in the 4th quarter, trying to make a first down on a 3rd and one. The Nittany Lions were able to contain Beanie Wells and that forced us into a passing game. I thought Tressel might go for it on fourth down, late in the game, but he chose to punt the football. I think Penn State has an excellent chance of playing for all the marbles, assuming they go undefeated in the remaining games of conference play. Don
Very unfortunate fumble for the Buckeyes. I thought Pryor was leading them down on a long game clinching drive and then the fumble that gave PSU life when seemingly they were running out of time. Not going to be tasting any crow here because Penn St's offense looked rather mundane when they met up with a real defense.....which is just what I expected and said would happen. On paper the Nits should be in the NC game however due to the remaining mediocre schedule ( can you just imagine if they played TexTech at Lubbock next week ) and with a groundswell of sentiment for JoePa to get "one last title". The fact you can't count him completely out personally is the only reason I would even give that Penn St team I saw last night a slim chance vs. the likes of Texas, Alabama and yes even Florida or USC.
I'll have to say that I'm really surprised that Penn State is this good. I figured them for eight or nine wins at the most this year. Congratulations to the Penn State fans on this forum. PJ in Jersey
Oh...and I apologize for appearing to be ungracious... Congrats to the Penn St fans on a hard earned great victory. The Lions showed they had the mettle and determination to at least get to the title game by passing their biggest test of the season. I just wish their season had a few more tests we could judge them by but that's not in the cards. I think a seasoned Pryor not a freshman Pryor....or a Colt McCoy....or a Matt Stafford....or a Tim Tebow.....or a JP Wilson....or a Mark Sanchez could present many unanswered problems for Joe Pa's squad.
