Phils took care of business with the Dodgers, now can the Sox comeback vs the Rays or will it be a Philly-Tampa WS?

While I would have preferred NLC brothers the Cubs to be the ones to go the WS, I hope that Brad Lidge can get a WS Ring that eluded him in such spectacular ways (not good ones either) in Houston. He finished out last nights game and has been the old Lights Out Lidge this year for the Phils.

I don't know if the Sox can pull off yet another comeback from the brink of elimination, but I sure hope so. The lineup has been very unproductive the last few games.

Well they took them too the limit. But we have it now, it's the Phils vs the Rays. Somehow I can't get excited. I predict a very low rated WS in terms of TV, very popular though in Philly and Tampa/St. Pete. :)

Can we finally put the high payroll myth to bed once and for all? It still comes down to pitching, defense, lack of injuries and some good breaks. Always has and always will.

Well I know the TV gods are not happy with the lineup but since I'm only 90 minutes aways from Tampa and get all their news channels I can say that they really don't care if anyone cares or not. No one gave them a snowballs chance in hell to make it anyway so they are pretty excited.

One of the cool things about this team is the fact that they are too young to appreciate what they are actually doing out there.

I love what George said about the high payroll myth...How would you like to compete against the payrolls of Boston and New York Yankees combined every year...

    GO RAYS..

The best Yankee teams were 1996-2000. That's when they had the role players interspersed with the superstars. The game was never over until the last strike. That's where Boston is right now.

Tampa is still playing because they are faster, play better defense, are better situational hitters and had a better bullpen then either Boston or New York.

That's how it should be, the game in the end is first and foremost for the Philly and Tampa fans!!

High payrolls don't guarantee championships, but they can sure help push a team in that direction.
