Boys....that was a prime example of fast, physical SEC football on a Saturday night. The crowd was phenomenal.....very very charged up and it affected LSU. Florida's speed was matched at times by LSU but overwhelmed the Tigers in the end. Some of the hardest hits were laid that I have seen watching football in person. It was scary. All in all one of THE most enjoyable Gator games I have ever attended.
Dave, Actually, I think that this game is another in a long line of games this season that sort of justifies my pre-season opinion of the SEC... It also goes to show what a flat out joke that writer's claim was that the SEC had upwards of 4 national championship contenders. It's a conference that has teams that are a) pretty good b) average with one strong component c) bad... and that is just how it breaks down. Of course, it doesn't matter as the SEC was anointed in Week 2 or 3 of the season by the media as 'the nation's premier conference'.... What a joke. But I digress, that was a great win for you guys. You exposed a lot of what I suspected about LSU. Still, your overall team speed cannot be denied. Very, very impressive.
Nice win for the Gators. I was surprised by the margin of victory. Florida should move up nicely in the polls, especially with Missouri losing. Does Alabama remain number 2 while being idle? Don
Big win for the Gators no doubt. LSU did not look as good as I thought they would, some of it I'm sure is the Gators but they didn't look like the #4 team in the country. But I'm glad you guys had a great game and win, also no doubt beautiful weather to enjoy the game.
One of the best performances I have seen out of Florida....very similar to the BCS title game in Jan. '07. I think LSU has great capability to beat Georgia in two weeks and if they don't beat 'em it will take a toll on the dawgs for sure.
LSU's 'big win' to date is a squeaker over an Auburn team that was just beaten by Arkansas....... on the Plains. In that game, Arkansas outgained Auburn 416 to 193. 19 first downs to 11. Prior to their pounding at the hands of the Gators, LSU had beaten Appalachian State, North Texas, Auburn and Mississippi State. At this point in time, LSU just doesn't look very good at all.
Alabama <t>stays at #2, and that is just fine with me for now. I personally don't think we would handle being #1 very well....yet. Texas is undefeated and just beat #1, I'm not sure why they were #5 but hey, that's okay. They still have a long way to go. If Bama wins out (we have a long way to go too), then this will all work itself out. Bama is too eratic to handle being #2 much less #1.</t>
