Thanks for the article! One of the reasons for optimism in the face of the fact we have a totally new OL was the fact that Sherman was a great OL coach for us back in the 90's. I guess our fans forgot that the head coach has a lot on his plate and generally can't be a position coach as well. I'd heard he was spending a LOT of time with the OL in the last week or so. They have been so bad, they needed the extra help. Hopefully it will start to pay off. As bad as things have been, a lot of us are encouraged by something we NEVER saw with Fran: The guys are getting better. If we can escape the injury bug for a while, maybe that will show up more to everyong else.
Scott.... <t>Whew I had a conversation with a former college coach last night that told me some things abut Sherman and what is going on there that would not please you. <br/> <br/> I hope he gets it together but that thing is a mess at this time.</t>
You have to feel sorry for Stephen McGee, the kid was a top QB prospect comming out of HS and was ruined by Fran. You had to figure that maybe this year Sherman maybe could turn that a little bit, but with your OL woes and no WR's he's just screwed. I wonder if he's enough of an athlete to go to the NFL as a Safety and Special teams player?
C'mon Larry, you gotta spill it! I have some friends pretty close to the program, so I'd like to hear what you've got to compare. Terry, Everyone feels really bad for SM. It's pretty obvious that Fran has really screwed him up. He just won't take a chance if the WR isn't wide open. And with this OL, he gets happy feet real quick... which is understandable to a degree.
I've always heard that when you see the light at the end of the tunnel to make sure it isn't a train.
