    MCG,

Nobody is telling ou have to agree with anyone. State your opinion and move on.

Example: Right now, you could state that Tennessee sucks and I would have to agree with you. However, you state it over and over and I will blast you from one end of this board to the other.

If you did say this, is what you said true? Yes. Have I said in several times in one way or another? You betcha! As a Tennessee fan, I have a right to do so. As an outsider, you have a right to let your opinion be known and move on. Continuing to blast Tennessee would be an invitation to circle the wagons and start firing back.

Does this make any sense to you??? Seriously!!! I'm not trying to provoke a response. I am trying my hardest to get you to understand what I believe is the problem.

    Tom,

I never have said Tenn "sucks' but I did say last year that they had more questions than answers as SEC East Champion due to who they played in the SEC and the results of those games.

I was blasted by a lot of people here for daring to point out the truth.

well I will say this Dave. I like you well enough.. Quite often, the few compliments you give are rather back handed, which allows you to ride both sides of the fence ergo you are always right.

According to you, everyone has lots of questions (who doesn't) and aside from the Nebraska debacle in the title game, Florida hasn't outright lost a game on the field in decades.

It isn't a bad thing, it is just what you do very often. I wasn't calling you on the carpet so much as I was letting Tom know that is NOT what I was doing with my post.

Hell, the other day I mentioned the Gators and Huskers in a post just because they were the first two names that came off the top of my head and I got blasted for mentioning 2 teams that had nothing to do with the topic... when my point was... what happened at ND could happen anywhere.

So to avoid confusion, and to make sure that Tom knew I wasn't piling on or rubbing it in (something you do and do well mind you), I let him know that.

Dave!!! I was making up an EXAMPLE!!!! Se the E-X-A-M-P-L-E word in front of that statement. That does not mean that you did that. It says that you C-O-U-L-D say that and I would have to agree.

Out of that whole post, that is the only thing you took away. I give up.

Ahhhh, but the question should be why .... Nebraska and UF .... versus the two of the other 116 Div-1 Football Bowl Subdivision teams [excluding ND since that was the subject team].
And the question should be what this phrase had to do with the discussiopn on this thread? Why was it necessary to make your point?

Just saying ........ why are certain choices made???

Seems to me Corey was pretty clear why he chose that phrase.

Funny, I guess I missed that clarification in Corey's Tue Sep 23, 2008 8:21 pm post where he used the "MCG moment dancing on anyone while they are down" phrasing .... and the post by MCG on this thread prior to Tue Sep 23, 2008 8:21 pm where MCG was "piling on or rubbing it in" re the 9/20/08 UF @ UT game.

    Oh well.

Sorry Corey but you did not get pasted.

And you did not just mention Florida and Nebraska you had to throw in an adjective for both teams, like Mighty Gators. Mighty......

Far from pasting you that was a needle like you love to do so much.

Happens that I agreed with your statement that what happened at Notre Dame indeed happens at other schools. But like you are accusing Dave you cannot seem to avoid taking the shot at Florida no matter if it's even a small one.

I just let you know that in my opinion you lesson your argument when you choose to add the adjectives. I stil think that. It is not pasting, it is simply me letting you know my opinion like you are free to do.

Let's not let this topic degenerate into a pi****g match and keep it to Auburn and Tennessee.

Tom, I haven't made my choice yet, but I do indeed think at this point I am going to choose Tennessee, for low points of course, but choose them.

    Gaterzfan,

I thought that you read these boards a lot more than it appears you do by responses to this topic. Let me enlighten you:

Dave went off on Ohio State after their bowl loss trying to prove that they didn't belong in the championship game for two years straight. He drove not only the OSU fans, but everyone around here batty. Just ask Bill, and Wendy. He did this to the point that now, when anyone goes overboard and drags things on and on and on to infinity, it is referred to as pulling a MCG.

Corey didn't say that MCG had made any comment. Translated, what he said was: I don't want this comment to be mistaken for a MCG tirade but... Corey stated:
He was making sure that I would take that comment as it was intended. Corey an I have had arguments before and he was heading that off before it had a chance to get started.

Corey, you did nothing wrong here and I totally understood what you meant. Anyone that wants to understand what you meant can see it as well.

Now, with that said, UNDERSTAND THIS!!! Any further comments off the topic of Tennessee vs Auburn, or Tennessee, or Auburn and this topic will be closed.

so anyway...back to pissing matches.. who will have the big bladder saturday night?

i really thought UT was in trouble here but the more i think about it... the sting of that LSU loss could be nagging the Tigers. It's not like the human satellite dish is known for teams with heart..

I may have to go back and pick the Vols here.

    ps
By making the ruling of 'only Vol/Tiger discussion' you killed about a half-dozen jokes I had ready to launch regarding 'reasonable and informed adult homicide in re Thunder Collins.. dammit, now i gotta call AJ'

Remember, Corey, you are only 4 points behind me. Picking the Vols in this game could push you further behind. :?

John Adams, a controversial KNS reporter, just posted an article from the interviews he had with several Auburn players. The following quote is from his impression of his interview with Robert Dunn, the punt returner for the Auburn Tigers.

Drew Edwards, another reporter that posts on KNS just posted an article about Auburn's defense. Here is a quote from Dave Clawson:
Get ready for a long day!

Tom, your optimism is overwhelming!

I can't say that I blame you but the season is young.

I haven't done my pickem yet but am leaning toward Tennessee.

Bill, you are a true friend and I am concerned for the safety of your picks!!! Choose Auburn for all the marbles.

I'm serious about this. Fulmer has lost his mind. Alzheimer's has hit Phil a little early. His clock management style in the last minute and a half of the first half against Florida was simply phenomenal. With approximately 30 seconds left, he doesn't get the play in to Crompton, the 13th ranked QB in the SEC, until there is 16 seconds left and we take our last time out. This precludes us from pounding the ball into the end zone with our running game with two plays from the 1 yard line.

Bill, whatever points you place on Tennessee will be points automatically lost... thrown to the wind.

This is a ludicrous statement if I ever heard one....

...and Tom...I never said that a 12-0 Ohio State with Troy Smith at Qb was not worthy of the BCS Championship game...nowhere did I even get close to that.

Now last year's appearance in the title game was a whole different story and that is what tied in to this year so heavily with regard to my drawn out USC-OSU debate because of so many starters ( 19 ) coming back from last year's Buckeye team.

You guys (and Gals) just wait...I've been forced to hide in the weeds the last few years...numbers are way down (I'm the sole Husker left here)...no Top 25's last 2 seasons...I've been an outcast unable to do what I do best...but that's gonna change folks...not this year, not even next, but after that...stand by.

I'm gonna make MCG look like a 3rd rate Blogger. Enjoy that alter boy while you can because...(ssshhhhh, can you hear it Jiffer?) THE TRAIN, THE TRAIN IS COMING....

    Moohahahaha....MOOhahahahha......MOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
