Might be worth a mention...though y'all will be closely tuned to ND-Michigan.

Gonna have your hands full. The ducks just smoked the Huskys in their first game.

I plan on giving it a look Stu...

The Ags are off this weekend, and with Ike predicted to be parked in my neighborhood on Saturday it's the perfect time for me to catch up on ball from the rest of the nation.

    If it's in W.Layfayette I'll give Purdue a chance. If it's out west...no chance.

    The Ducks

<t>hung 44 on Washington and 66 on Utah State, I look for Purdue to be a much stiffer test. This game should be wide open though!</t>

It's at West Lafayette. It'll be a good test for Purdue.

I expect a high scoring game from the Ducks...the question is whether our offense can answer the call.

The game is is W. Lafayette, with rain predicted, which might slow down the offenses...however they are used to rain in Eugene, I'm sure.

Given the possible color mismatches between the Ducks electric Green and Yellow uniforms and the Gold and Black of Purdue I recommend saving you color vision and watching the game in Black and White!! :)

I saw that the weather is potentially bad for the ND/Michigan game as well with Thunderstorms predicted for the game. We do have a grass field at ND, which is brand new and looked great for the SDSU game, but it's still grass and heavy rain and football ususally turns that to a bad field. I think Purdue also has a grass field doesn't it?

If I recall correctly, Purdue's field is what I would call high tech grass, with a highly sophisticated drainage system developed by (drumroll) the Purdue Ag folks.

Purdue coach Joe Tiller and his staff may be working late trying to figure out a way to deal with Oregon's speedy, athletic players Saturday and come up with a victory over the 16th-ranked Ducks in Ross-Ade Stadium.

But it didn't appear Tiller was feeling any extra pressure while preparing for one of the biggest games during his 12-year career with the Boilermakers.

He had fun with questions about Oregon that were tossed his way during Tuesday's weekly teleconference.

Question No. 1 -- Where do you start when trying to defend an offense that is averaging 592 yards a game?

"You see if (Oregon) coach (Mike) Bellotti will agree to allow us to play 12 men versus their 11. Outside of that, I don't have any answers."

Question No. 2 -- How do you try to neutralize their speed?

"Start the game at noon, when they're there at three. Your guys go at noon, let them go at three."

Question No. 3 -- How would you describe the Oregon defense?

    "Fast. Faster. And fastest."

Question No. 4 -- How would you describe their secondary, which some say could be the best in the nation?

"Two of them are All-World and two of them are All-American."

Finally, while talking about how Oregon has improved tremendously since this two-game series (Purdue will play at Oregon next season) was scheduled, Tiller suggested he be allowed to borrow a few Ducks.

"I think (Bellotti) should loan us at least four players," Tiller said. "I think that should be the trade-off. Two on offense, two on defense. He can even pick the two on either side he wants to give us. It wouldn't matter."

Looks like Joe is in rare form. I would think that's a good sign for Purdue fans. Either that or he is auditioning for Lee Corso's job after he (Tiller) retires.
