Sox win an exciting one today. Down 4-0 to the Orioles, they scored 2 in the 7th, 2 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th to win. The winning run resulted from a single, followed by two bunts (plus a throwing error by the pitcher). Also, Jacoby Ellsbury robbed Aubrey Huff of a home run earlier in the game. The best part? Joel was there, sitting a few rows behind the Sox dugout. Great game to pick, Joel. That was one of the most exciting wins so far this season, and it must have been even better in person.
I just got home Ricko! It was great sitting so close to the field! There is absolutely no place like Friendly Fenway. I think I mentioned a few months ago that the next 400 hitter in baseball will be Pedroia! What an amazing little man he is!! I got a wicked sunburn...but it was worth it!
Thanks Sid. I taped the game hoping I would be seen. Sure enough a guy in the row in front of me caught a foul ball in the 5th inning. Just my luck the cameras at that time were focused on the Sox Bull pen...where the players create a bit of music using spoons and their feet to help rally the troops. Cory..Old Yawkey YARD gets rockin! Ever come up here to see your dad's birthplace?
