From Bleacher Report I don't think I agree with this because there is just to much talent in S. Florida High Schools which the Canes get about all they want from there. Why The Miami Hurricanes Will Never Be Good Again
All I know is I plan to be there when the Aggies kick them in the nuts as payback for all that gansta crap I had to put up with last year!
Well I don't know enough to say one way or the other, but that was a pretty outlandish article. Randy Shannon has been at Miami for quite awhile and was a top defensive coordinator, now that doesn't always translate to being a great head coach but it's a little early to count him out. Also I thought I remember him laying down some pretty tough rules for the football team, and bring up those incidents from the past is irrelevant. It is odd that they have 10 players from 1 high school though, and I would assume that USF and UCF do provide some competition, but come on it's Miami and they play in the ACC I have a hard time seeing that USF and/or UCF are truly competitive with them in recruiting. In fact Miami had a consensus top 5 recruiting class last year. Scout had them at #3 behind Alabama and ND, I think ESPN had them at #2. Very odd article. ACC though has fallen on hard times with the decline of Miami and FSu. Terry
I think I agree Terry. I haven't gone to that site much and don't really know what their format is and what they accomplish. As far as ten players from the same school, the Gators signed 6 from Lakeland, which is a smaller school, two years ago and two of them started at one time or another last year, the Pouncy twins, and one was red shirted who will contribute a lot this year, Chris Rainey. I believe the other three will be playing quite a bit this year. Also the school involved was Northwestern which I believe may have been voted the best High School in the country by someone or other. What I mean to say is that school turns out a lot of talent. I would like to see Randy Shannon succeed because I like his approach. I also think he's a heck of a recruiter.
miami <r>the 'canes will never be good again???.......as much as I hate them and wish that were true, I'll believe it when I see it...God I hope I see it! <E>8)</E></r>
I just read <t>something the other day that indicated Long Beach Poly has something like 19 or 20 former players in NCAA Division 1 football right now. They have had 17 players drafted in the past 20 years alone. (that's not ever, just the last 2 decades). I've read repeated sources that claim they have produced more NFL talent than any other school. I say all this because its quite possible that a team produce 10 D1 players for Miami.<br/> <br/> BTW, this blog is a joke. Bleacher Report has some great blogs, and some awful ones... I believe the kid who wrote this is a horsesh*t Hogs fan.</t>
MANNY BEING MANNY.....MIAMI BEING MIAMI. Not 1, not 3, not even 5 BBBBBUUUUUTTTTTTTTT SEVEN, COUNT 'EM 7 Crimicane players suspended for the home opener. Yeah, What'shisnuts Shannon has a firm hold on that detention center. GONZO? Hello? We're ready for your excuses now.
Watched Chris Rainey on the Sun Sports replay of the Orange and Blue game.... Between him and Moody the Florida offense gets a huge lift in contributions from players other than Tebow and Harvin. Rainey's move to get in the endzone on that 65 yard TD was freakish..... And speaking of Miami here is a quote from a Miami fan of all people from a Gatorsports forum on his opinion of new Florida receiver Carl Moore: "I knew this guy was too good to be kept down. When he comes in, we need to stick Brandon Harris on him, otherwise we could have problems. Moore is a beast, period. I predict he'll be the first UF receiver to really make a legit impact in the NFL. I'm not talking about that Reidel Anthony, Reche Caldwell, solid-everyday-guy type of impact, I'm talking about greatness. If he'll commit himself, you could be staring at the next Dwayne Jarrett.Z" Wow....and I drafted Thompson instead.....hmmm.....
hell yeah rick! <r><IMG src="http://www.funnyforumpics.com/forums/Thread-Hijack/1/Hijack-Duke_Nukem_Mission.gif"><s></e></IMG></r>
Corey, I probably have to agree about this blog, but also have to say I haven't been all that impressed with some of the other blogs from this site. I said before and will say again I have a favorable impression of Randy Shannon. Having said that though he is taking some heat in Miami for some early game suspensions. UM's Shannon handles Marve suspension poorly
excuse me but that writer is a GD idiot. Punishing a kid who is redshirting is damned near meaningless. Shannon is actually offering a by God punishment at an institution that sorely needs hardline discipline. That writer can go Eff himself. Writers, fans, boosters and staff members have been making excuses for Cane players for far too long.
Posh is a word that comes to mind after watching that video. The recruiting edge that Miami will have with those facilities will be huge!!
