Well, since I haven't been on the board much over the last week or two and hadn't seen this thread down the page ..... and since Corey asked a question of UF fans .... I thought I would give him my response. Was I factually incorrect in anything I stated as regards Urban Meyer? It is no secret he coached at ND and tOUS ..... and obtained a Masters from tOSU .... before coaching at Bowling Green, Utah, and UF ..... is it? Is it not reasonable to believe Meyer's past experiences served to influence the decisions he's made .... thus far ... as regards Ron Wilson being allowed to walk-on to the UF football team?
Is it not unreasonable to expect that a topic that has nothing to do with Ohio State other than in your mind (some remote Master's Degree)...a topic that was not brought up by Ohio State fans...a topic that received nothing but support for Florida from the only Ohio State person posting...a topic that had been hashed out and dead for 8 days... Oh, never mind... :?
So ... is Meyer not from Ohio ... not an tOSU alum ..... not a former coach at ND and tOSU? Or, is it a matter that those facts about Urban Meyer cannot be mentioned, at all ..... when discussing Urban Meyer?
Stu, it's obvious to all that his post and subsequent reply are only intended to antagonize rather than to add any value to the board.....obsession is an odd malady. Perhaps it's best to let them resolve their issues themselves. Bill, he's another one of yours, you have my condolences. btw, has anybody heard from Wendy lately?
So Stu ... why did you even read this old thread about UF and Urban Meyer, which was "dead" for 8 or so days? Then, why did you bother replying?
Sorry, it looked as though your query to which I responded, was addressed to MCG ...... And your 2nd to last statement led me to believe you were asserting all UF fans were managing to "gloss over" the fact Meyer was allowing Ron "sharpshooter" Wilson to walk on to the team.
oh ok, you were going way back in the 'way back machine' on the thread. i thought you were referring to my last post on the matter. no big.
Actually Bill, you are partially correct. But the reason for the "stir" ..... presenting a catalyst to initiate reasonable and logical thought on the part of another ...... is to have a person [any person wanting to denigrate Urban Meyer for his decisions and actions] to consider why Meyer is making his decisions and what experiences in Meyer's background give him cause to do what he has chosen to do ..... and specifically, this case involving Ron Wilson. To paraphrase .... if one is going to claim Urban Myere is a liar, is unenthical in recruiting, etc ....... what in his past experiences causes him to be such and where did he learn to be this way, if he is? Interestingly, IMHO a thorough and objective consideration of this matter (as presented earlier in this thread) may yield an answer to "what" Meyer is .... and "why" he is that person. Afterall, if one is going to (perhaps fairly) assert Meyer is a liar, cheat, etc .... shouldn't one consider why he is? You see, the problem on this site is not what is presented, but rather how just a couple/few consistently respond to such.
atta boy Terry <t>When presenting a catalyst to initiate reasonable and logical thought on the part of another, it is best to start by kicking them right in the fruit stand!<br/> <br/> There's hope for you yet<br/> <br/> Sincerely,<br/> The Dark Side</t>
I didn't see it but it's being reported that when interviewed live today about that Helmet contest on ESPN, that Urban said his favorite college football helmet is "the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame". So I'm sure he's just hanging around Gainesville waiting for the ND job to open!
and he follows it up <r>this time with a roundhouse kick to the fruit stand<br/> <br/> <IMG src="http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk275/shaybonham/images-1.jpg"><s></e></IMG><br/> <br/> i am so proud</r>
 Yeh but .... given his (i) approach to recruiting and (ii) prior representations re his commitment to a job ..... can ya really believe what he's saying is the truth? Could be he's just telling the media what they want to hear? Or maybe he's just ..... presenting a catalyst to initiate reasonable and logical thought on the part of another? Oh wait, forget that .... he was talking to the media.
