You have to wonder just how the rain delay today will affect the golfers and the course tommorrow.

I think Romero has a huge advantage because he has played his 3rd round and only has to play 18 holes on Sunday.

The leaders going into Sat. have get up at 5:30 and tee off at 7:40 and then play a grueling 36 holes on the Monster......a wet Monster at that.

It is a probability that the rough will be an absolute bear Sunday morning especially so look for some big 3rd round scores from the leaders.
I think the greens will be softer for certain and that will help but the course will play much longer with not much roll and the rough will be tougher to negate any advantage the greens give back.

And...there is the little matter of Sunday placement of the pins which will be more difficult than Saturday.

I can't imagine the stamina it will take for those who have to play 36 tommorrow.

The younger guys will be ok, it's very common for college golfers to have to play 36 holes, and they have to carry their own clubs. But the older golfers might wear down a little.

The Paul Goydos of the world will wear down physically but the young guys will wear down mentally I believe.

Looks like the pansies got their way with some of the easy as pie pin placements that are being reported on the golf channel....at least for the 3rd round and birdies are as commonplace now as they would be at The Buick Open up in Grand Blanc.

Hopefully that will change for the 4th round which doesn't start until 12:20.

Ernie Els is saying the rough is more penal though as the moisture from the rains has kicked in but the Golf Channel said they mowed the rough even more between the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

I think the PGA is going to do everything they have to do to get the birdies flowing and ensure some red scores.

Yeah, the average score for the third round is just under 3 OVER par. Just like the Buick Open :p

The finishing holes claimed a lot of victims and only Harrington really tore it up today.

Ben Curtis is -2 and leading headiing into the final round.

I say if he maintains par for the round he wins.

One under 69 he is a lock and anything over par could throw him into a playoff or a loss.

I think Garcia or Harrington wins this thing at -1.
