    Now you might think the outrage might be against a college student, esp a scholarship athlete, being in the presence of Beer and prossibly even drinking it. But no that's not really the outrage. It's his choice of clothes!!! That's the outrage! Geez guys try not to look so gay, errr not that there's anything wrong with that. :)

    Wasn't Randy Kinder kicked off the team for taking a leak in a dorm trash can years ago?

    We may not think this is too funny in the future......

    Randy missed the Orange Bowl in '96 due to alcohol violations but never missed a season. Interestingly Randy also missed the debacle in Tempe in '94 when the 6-4 Irish team was hosed by Colorado. He was injured in bowl week prep...maybe watching that game started him drinking.

    I don't think this is funny

    <r>The kid could wind up being in a lot of trouble over this...and for doing what? something that damn near every kid at ND is doing regardless of what duLac says.<br/>
    <br/>
    This is a guy who was most likely cruising facebook or myspace pages for dirt on people. I sh*t you not. There are grown ass men who spend time stalking kids so that they can hurt programs or 'expose' kids.<br/>
    <br/>
    If there must be another Jimmy Clausen photo scandal in the future, I hope its a sex picture scandal involving him with the gf/wife of whoever is out there trolling for this stuff... preferrably in the pooper.<br/>
    <br/>
    Oh I know, I know... the young men should know better. They should know they are held to a different standard.. but if they really aren't 'college students' then why aren't we paying them? Again, I know..I know... its the day and age of digital technology... We're crossing lines here that need not be crossed and as I mentioned in another section, character is sorely lacking in our society.<br/>
    <br/>
    Thank God it was only apple juice in that cup.<br/>
    <br/>
    That's my story, disprove it.<br/>

    This was a get together in Windsor Ontario. Drinking age 19. Drinking legal. Non-issue. Let's get on to more pressing items such as what Bret Favre did today.

    I really feel sorry for these kids, in todays world every photo taken of you has a good chance of ending up on the internet. If I remember correctly there was a Northwestern girls soccer team post season party that somebody posted a bunch of photos. Including some sexually suggestive (but not explicit) photos and photos of underage drinking. They were busted. I have read that at a lot of universities there are people who's jobs it is to search the myspace and facebook worlds for possible violoations of university rules.

    I wonder how long gipper would have lasted at Notre Dame if facebook had been around for his buds to publish that photo of him rolling the giant snowball off the dorm roof!! :) Stone cold sober no doubt!! :)

    That was senior year. I would have been long gone by then.
    Seriously, beer and college have always, in my mind gone together. I remember when Commish was a freshman and I went down to a game. I walked across campus with a suitcase with a case of beer in it as a "dormwarming" gift. The policy at ND was for many years, and still may be, that drinking in your room was permissable. As long as you didn't breach the peace, they allowed it.
    The smart thing is to always avoid the cameras. Never force the issue. In this case, the school should just say that the pix do not reveal that any school rules were violated and let it die. And then Charlie should give Clausen a noogie.

    this one time, at band camp........

    <t>so who gets to shoot the messenger?<br/>
    <br/>
    its 'journalism' like this that leads to bloggers having their credentials pulled by universities and pro sports franchises.<br/>
    <br/>
    blogging can be a fantastic supplement of information in following your favorite team. at the same time, what amount of credibility or accountability do they have? they want the same respect, treatment and access that 'real' journalists have without having any of the accountability.<br/>
    <br/>
    If the SBT runs this story, as it was presented, there would be hell to pay since there are so many loose ends... In the blogosphere, they have no one to answer to in the end.</t>

    <r>What's the big deal here......could be a lot worse like the Florida kid with an AK-47 or the young man from Oklahoma with a semi-auto pistol. Give me a break! <E>:?</E></r>
