1. Will 80 games win the NL West? Barry Bonds didn't play for the Giants last year and they almost won it, with Bonds back do they win going away? 2. Will all the money the Mets have spent finally pay off this year? If it doesn't what do they do next? 3. Is there any Nat'l League team as good as these 6 American League teams New Yawk Baaahston Cleveland Chicago Angels (either Anaheim or Los Angeles) Oakland 4. Is the secret to the Astros giving the Cardinals hearburn in the post season the fact that we take off and rest up till the All-Star break and thus are fresher than the Birds who knock themselves out beating everybodies brains out the first half of the season? 5. Boston broke a curse, the Chisox finally got one, can this be the year of the Cubs.....nah. 6. If Barry Bonds breaks the record this year could he be both banned and celebrated at the same time? 7. Will Roger Clemens decide he wants to pitch again after May 1, and does he want full salary for part of the season? 8. Are the Marlins the next Expos? 9. Red Sox logo is now on the lottery tickets in Mass, is this a good idea? 12. Did you know that Joey Harrington was sacked about 80 times in his Lions career while David Carr has been sacked 200 times in the same period. Harrington should thank his lucky stars he played for the Lions!! OK this isn't a baseball item, but I just thought I'd throw it in for you to see if you're paying attention. Play Ball!! Terry
Bonds should be banned now and not break the record. The Marlins will likely be leaving Florida, they cannot seem to get a new stadium and Pro Player Stadium is not condusive to baseball. The Mets look pretty powerful to me. Gator Bill
In no particular order.. Look for Soriano to have a bad year as he sulks through the season Clemens will want as much as he can get. He will pitch for either the Red Sox or the Yankees as he found out that being close to home wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Cubs? No way. Pitcher are too brittle. Mets have two managers... Willie and Pedro. Pedro will pitch every 9th day and spend quality time on the DL. Mets second to Atlanta...again. Watch out for Cleveland this year.
I beg to differ doc.... The Cards are just as good as any of those six teams. I'm excited about the season and can't wait to get it underway. I'll see you in OCT.
