I see he's in a war of words with the Sox management. Do you want them to pick up his option or will you be glad to see him go free agent and take the Manny being Manny act someplace else??
Manny wants a 3 or 4 year deal. He claims he can play that much longer. Sox are offering to pick up the one year option. I believe the time might be to set him free.
What about Manny being pissed at the fine he received for shoving the Sox ticket manager. Then he pinch hits against the Yanks and doesn't take the bat off his shoulder for 3 straight strikes. I thought that was very odd and then hearing about the fine afterwards, I think he was sticking it to management. I'm sorry but he has to go. Second story I heard.....(from a Yank fan calling WFAN) That Manny asked Francona out of playing against Joba bc his bat speed is slowing a bit. (Once again from a Yank caller) Thirdly......Manny and Hansen to Mets, Mets trade Hansen and prospects to Colorado, Sox get Holliday I'd do it today, not sure if Mets have enough though for the Rockies
The Manny saga has worn thin in Boston and Francona's demeanor during the in-game interview Sunday night was all the proof you need of that. He is one hell of a manager you know what he would do at this point if it were up to him. Sometimes its addition by subtraction. He absolutely kills the Yankees but I would not want to see him in pinstripes because he's all about himself and baseball is still a team sport.
