http://cfn.scout.com/2/769496.html This SEC season promises to be a barnburner with some tense battles. I am going to Gainesville on 10-11 for the Fla -LSU game and from experience I can tell you there is nothing like a huge gameday in G-ville when a capable SEC foe is in town. The air is thick with excitement ....and humidity......but in any event it's a blast. Also...when it's warm those blue jean shorts can be much more than appealing..... 8)
Then again we have to ask "Who is Tim Tebow and why should we care ?" 2008 O'Brien Watch List: Todd Boeckman, SR, Ohio State Sam Bradford, SO, Oklahoma Tom Brandstater, SR, Fresno State Hunter Cantwell, SR, Louisville Rudy Carpenter, SR, Arizona State Jimmy Clausen, SO, Notre Dame Chase Clement, SR, Rice Chase Daniel, SR, Missouri Sean Glennon, SR, Virginia Tech Matt Grothe, JR, South Florida Max Hall, JR, BYU Cullen Harper, SR, Clemson Graham Harrell, SR, Texas Tech Chase Holbrook, SR, New Mexico State Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada, SR, Navy Dan LeFevour, JR, Central Michigan Jake Locker, JR, Washington Colt McCoy, JR, Texas Curtis Painter, SR, Purdue Todd Reesing, JR, Kansas Mark Sanchez, JR, USC Riley Skinner, JR, Wake Forest Rusty Smith, JR, Florida Atlantic Matthew Stafford, JR, Georgia Tim Tebow, JR, Florida Mike Teel, SR, Rutgers Willie Tuitama, SR, Arizona Drew Weatherford, SR, Florida State Pat White, SR, West Virginia Juice Williams, JR, Illinois John Parker Wilson, SR, Alabama
George... I have been present when Florida has played all of these teams in the article and it's pretty special....to me as an SEC fan certainly and it would be to any college football fan in general if they saw it. I once sat on the 45 yd line in South Bend overlooking ND-Mich and it was a great college football experience but not quite as intense as what I have seen in the Swamp.
That's how it is for YOU MCG... I've been to some of the "big" stadiums around, and while it's fun... it's never as intense when it's not your team out there. I haven't made it to the Swamp yet, but it's on my list. I can assure you the gameday experience is just as intense for other schools fans when they play their rivals with big stakes on the line.
What I was trying to confer Scott was the gameday atmosphere level of intensity when it is a big SEC clash in the Swamp. Don't use a trip to the Swamp to see the Gators play Hawaii for instance as your gauge. I have been to Michigan at Ohio State and that was the only atmosphere outside of the Swamp that was comparable. I am certain though that when Nebraska visits A&M that you guys get pretty jacked up and College Station has that atmosphere I am referring to. ( Texas was too obvious ) Madison, Eugene and Happy Valley are also big time stadiums and towns on a big college gameday so it's not relegated just to the south or the Swamp. In any event when you start a list like CFN did and I read about it I can envision what is about to happen over the next few months and it's gonna be a lot of fun.
