You guys are having an awesome year, racking up some great players. You should be in the top 3 recruiting wise this year along with USC and Texas. Not on your list but this past weekend you landed a great CB in Corey Brown and there is an OL that ND really wants in Chris Watt who supposedly commited to you guys but nothing is public yet. He's visiting ND this week so who knows. Terry
CoreyBrown is the latest highly touted recruit coming out of Penn States back yard over to Columbus. We've snuck 4 fine prospects right out from under JoePa's nose. It would appear that the issues surrounding JoePa's tenure are starting to hurt PSU recruiting efforts....wonder what AJ's thinking about this????
Isn't that Carter kid the son or nephew of Chris Carter? I'm sure JoePa's situation hurts with some kids, but we lost a battle with them for an OL who said he loved JoePa and the whole staff there at Penn State. I'm sure that PSU rivals are using JoePa's contract being let to expire after this season as part of their pitch to kids who they are competing with PSU for their signature. In April this was said on ESPN: Leaves a lot up in the air. [/quote]
Duron Carter is Cris Carter's adopted son....he looks to have the same big body type as Cris - now if he has Cris's work ethic, hands and vertical we'll be in business!
An outside linebacker at Cleveland Glenville, Newsome is the sixth player to commit to the class since Friday. Newsome, 6 feet 3 and 230 pounds, said the time was right to make this decision. We now have 23 commitments. I think we can max out at 27. Don
Leave some for the rest of us!! Is this pretty unusual for you guys to have so many verbals at this stage? Out doing Mr. Feb, Mack Brown!!
Terry, Yes, very unusual to be out so far in advance. We had a relatively small class of recruits this year, so the cupboard needed to be replenished for next year. Don
25 is the NCAA max, but everybody gets around that with early entries that count against last years class. So while it looks like you can only take a couple of more kids, likely some of those kids are going to enroll early. Of course no matter what you can't exceed the 85 player limit. I've read that you are going to take 27 or 28, is that about right?
Terry, Yes I think you are correct. If my memory serves me correctly, we have six freshman enrolled in summer school, including Pryor. I know there are still four high profile recruits out there who have not committed. They will make room for them one way or the other! Don
Wow, that's quite a list!! The Big Orange picked up a commitment from one of the last remaining top QBs. Josh Nunes from California committed to the Vols last night.
