    Cindy and I had Roadrunner ISP through Time Warner in January of 2000 when we first moved back to Texas. I don't remember it being this fast but I ran a speed test last night and was simply amazed.

    I used Speakeasy to get the following results:

    Download = 10141
    Upload = 1942

    The fastest I had with multiplexed wireless DSL out in Jarrell was:

    Download = 1523
    Upload = 448

    This service is like greased lightening :!:

    Smokin! I'm with AT&T and I get 1300 and 484 which works fine for what I'm doing, but that's really an amazing speed.

    Using this test I get 18345 and 1739. I have a cable modem. Comcast advertises 5mbs on download and 8mbs for an additional monthly fee of $10, which I subscribed to. I recently unsubscribed to this fee and note that my speeds haven't changed. I am thinking that they don't have the tech available to offer two different speeds, so I am saving ten bucks.

    Vicm - Comcast may not, but Verizon sure can.

    I have Fios... but the base level so I only get 5206 down, and 1794 up per Tom's test site.

    However, depending on what I want to pay, I could get up to ridiculous speeds... (mostly for business). I believe they offer a 100000 rate, but it's about $200/month.

    I could notch up to 15000 for another $25, but I don't see the need...

    Scott,

    My speed came as a pleasant surprise. I am only paying $30 per month guaranteed not to increase for the two year term of the contract.

    I teach classes over the internet. With voice over IP, you need all the speed you can get.

    Scott as you can see my speeds are far superior to the speed Comcast advertised some months ago. I recently received a flyer that they are now on fiber-optics.

    Fiber RULES! Much cleaner and faster than the old cable stuff and certainly DSL.
    I love ours.

    Take 'em for as much as you can, Lord knows they've screwed us for a long time!!

    The numbers I quoted earlier were while on a wireless connection inside the house. I finally finished connecting the Ethernet in the home office and retested just now.

    I talk to him all the time Rick, but we haven't discussed football much.
    He's coming down for a visit over the holiday weekend, so I'll get his take then and report back.
