Since we have a few followers of the schools involved, I thought I'd mention it.

So far ULaLa has defeated #1 seed Florida.
A tough break for you Gator fans, but a great thing for me since the Aggies (who beat Va Tech) would have been slated to play your girls.

ASU and Bama are tied 0-0 right now in the 5th, and Arizona plays UCLA later tonight.

Your 3rd baseman is a good friend of my nephews (A&M golfer). TAMU golfers are currently 12 in the NCAA's. Tomorrow is critical, you have to be in the top 15 to go to the final round.

ASSU has a three-run 7th to beat KP's Crimson Tide. Was that double a double?

Yeah the Alabama pitcher did a good job for the most part but she just put too many people on base with walks and hit batters. Good game though. On to the losers bracket!

Arizona's pitcher Taryne Mowatt makes a throwing error to first in the first inning that leads to an unearned run in a 1-0 loss to UCLA.

See you in the loser's bracket, KP.

As some of you may or may not know i am a softball coach in tucson. I have been following the tourney and see A&M and the other arizona team as being the top two teams in the tournament...basically as long as ASSU doesnt win it-it will have been a good tournament. The A&M-Florida game should produce the champ and it didnt look good for florida when i left with them tied 1-1 and their pitcher walking in a run and the 2nd string pitcher getting warm. Florida has to beat A&M twice so it will be a tough battle for them.

BDR...We will dominate for four years when CDO phenom Kenzi fowler joins the team in 2010. I unfortunately have to play her again next year.

Congratulations to A & M. Strange the way it goes sometimes, the Gators get two quick outs in the top of the 9th then a singe and a triple for the run that ends up winning the game 1-0.

We got our first two batters on in the bottom of the inning but a double play and a pop up ends the game.

Congratulations to the Lady Aggies and good luck in the finals.

    Thanks Bill!
I gotta say I was terrified when that lead-off hitter got on for your girls after we'd just scored.
I've seen it so many times that you work so hard to get ahead, you lose focus when it's your turn in the field and the other team answers...

Great game and if not for a bad bounce off the wall on that triple, we might still be playing.

ASSU has a real advantage, no matter which of us they were facing... since both of our Aces had to pitch nine innings...

I'm very proud of our girls, especially considering they did all this without their best pitcher - Amanda Scarborough...

    :D

I thought softball was a 7 inning game.

It is. It was 0-0 all the way to the 9th...

You have reason to be proud Scott and I like your chances.

Our pitcher pitched 4 games in 2 days and she sure wasn't the reason we lost.

I think your pitcher will be fine.

Not a good ending for the Ag's. I feel bad for their Sr's, to have worked so hard for 4 years to get to the finals and to get beaten badly (11-0) has got to really hurt. It'll take them awhile to get over that I assume.

Been away on vacation for a bit, so couldn't comment.

I'm sure the girls are smarting, but hey they got a shot at the gold ring.
Hard to be too disappointed in a season that gets that far...

I'm proud as heck that they made it to the end.
