    SEC Early Signing Period

I'm all for this, I don't think it will affect a tremendous number of players as a lot of top players will still want to wait till the Feb date and play the recruiting game. But for those kids who are really commited it will get the coaches of other schools off their backs. I'd actually like to see it be in late July or early August, recruiting is accelerated so much now that a lot of kids give their verbal before May 1.

I also think that if they put this into effect that the kids need an out clause if the school they signed with early fires the coach after they sign their LOI.

Seems an interesting proposal that I am not sure how I feel right now.

But I do agree that if implemented should include an out as Terry mentioned.

One thing I don't like about the SEC proposal is that they want to have a kid who takes even 1 offical visit ineligible to sign an early LOI. That makes no sense what so ever to me.

The vote in the SEC required the vote of the Coaches and the approval of the AD's and Presidents. The AD's voted it down today so it's a dead issue with the SEC.
