Sid, Big series starting today in Houston!!!!

Astros Bergman and Cubs Soriano are the hottest hitters in baseball right now. Astros pitching was roughed up pretty good vs the Giants and the Rangers but our hitting kept was the reason we finished the 10 game road trip 7-3. Hopefully home cookin' will make us even more better!! :)

I think your mantra this year is that it gets down to who ever pitching stinks the least may be key to this series!!

It looks like the Cubs' starters will be Lilly, Dempster, and Gallagher. Dempster is an enigma in a positive sense, given his performance to date. I don't know if and when he will come crashing back to his old ways, but if he pitches vs. your guys the way he's pitched so far, I like the Cubs in game 2. The other two games are a toss-up IMO.

Ted Lilly was pretty impressive last night and Jim Edmonds spectacular catch in CF to snuff a rally was key.

Yes, Edmonds made a great catch. How about the inside-the-park HR by Soto? I don't understand why that was not called a HR by the umpire. It hit well above and to the right of the yellow lines. Also, another missed call at second base, this time by Joe West. So far, not a good week for umpires.

No doubt Soto's HR was a missed call, not that it made any real difference. But what if our CF doesn't give up on the ball and plays it off the wall and gets him in a play at the plate or he's held up at 3rd base. I thought it was a HR in realtime as I watched it on TV, no doubt our CF did so as well.

BTW how are you with the Jim Edmonds aquisition, great play last night aside?

No problem at all. He's always been a true professional and a hustler. Give me a team full of Jim Edmonds's (in his prime, of course) and I'll win a pennant. His past association with the Cardinals is not an issue with me.

Very important win last night, gave us the series. I hope we can stay in this dog fight, if we can it'll be a great summer for Astros fans. Fans really like Tejada and with Berkman, Pence and Lee we'll have plenty to cheer about.

Those 4 hitters definitely can keep you in the race. It looks like the NL Central will be very competitive to the end, which is a good thing for the fans.
