Umps blew a call in the Mets/Yankees game last night and afterwards admitted to blowing it. It was a HR down the line that the 3rd base ump called a HR but was overuled by the homeplate ump. It seems like it's time for baseball to take advantage of the instant replay technology that is available. Calls on balls down the line and bam/bam plays at the bases should be the first. Someday I hope they have a holographic generator beneath home plate that projects a strike zone and records wheter or not the baseball touched the strikezone. The Blues complained mightly when they were being evaluated by the camera that was mounted so they could record the ball moving over the plate, I don't think it could evaluate the zone in 3D though. I saw that missed call last night. I would be in favor of replay only for the purpose of correcting that kind of mistake, not for calls on the bases or balls and strikes. The latter would ruin the game IMO.
