Those of you that are expecting replies from Joel may be disappointed. It appears that he has given up on the Skybox. Ever since he had the issues with his AOL account, he has had problems logging into his account here on the Skybox. I had been trying to help him find the reason but I couldn’t get any information out of him. What I would get is: “I can’t get on.” I would ask for information on what he was seeing when his login was rejected. I would never hear another peep until he would burst back onto the scene saying: “I’m in for now.” I do know that I initially suggested that he do a system restore back to a date before he had problems with AOL. He did that and for a few weeks he had no problems getting on. Afterwards, he was hit or miss at best. Bill, Terry, and I have reset his password and used his account without fail. We send him the password and he is not so lucky. It appears to me that some setting in his browser has changed. Why it will let him in sometimes and not others is beyond me. Anyone out there have any ideas as to what could be causing this intermittent situation?
I think jif, and my Father-in-law are the only folks I know of who still use AOL. If he'd get a real ISP, he'd be fine...
Jif...Get rid of AOL and get a real ISP and get back on the skybox. We are your lucky charms without us the Sox are doomed!!
Maybe we can get Manny to take JIF's place, he's a mulitasker as can be seen in this video of his great catch in RF. You have to watch most of the video to see how cool the catch was!! Manny being Manny
That was really cool. I had heard about it this morning on sports talk radio, but I had not seen it until now. Thanks for posting.
Yes I do. My trip from the lake (where we now live) to my Ft. Wayne office is about 50 minutes in the car. I listen to them each morning during that time.
Sid Drove down I69 to Indy last weekend. Must go right by your place. So you're a Michigander now? And Bobda lives in Wisc....go figure.
Actually. Gip, our lake (Lake George) is right on the state line. The northern shore is in Michigan and the southern shore is in Indiana. We're on the Indiana side. We are less than a minute east of the first Indiana southbound exit (mile 157). We are spending our weekends in Indy with our kids and grandkids, so we would not have been here, but if you come this way again, let me know. You can make a rest stop here, and the coffee is free.
I now <t>work in the IT field. I finally gave into the dark side and finally decided to put some of these skills I've honed as a member of GenX to use.

I can tell you this.

1. AOL is crap. They do cause problems with certain sites.
2. Most people are afraid to get rid of AOL because they want to keep the email address. This is more crap. AOL email is a free service of the web that is part of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). You can cancel your account and get a real ISP, AND keep the AOL email addy. You just have to access it thru webmail portal instead.
3. Some tech companies (not saying who) randomly charge an "AOL fee" to compensate for the extra customer service time they will have to spend catering to AOL users who will have trouble, simply because their service is AOL.
4. Have him shoot me an email. I can try to ghost him since we aren't anywhere near each other, and I will try to figure out wth is going on with it.

The real answer is... ditch AOL and you discover what the internet is really all about... but I dont know if he will listen</t>
Just when you guys thought the Jiffer was out, I pulled him back in. Now, don't ever ask me about the family business again. 8)
