Well it's that time of year between Spring Practice and Football season. We will no doubt have players from a number of schools get in trouble before football season starts. Terry O'Keefe, George, Whobedis and PJMIII recently expressed what I feel to be true that incidents can happen at any school, it's how its handled that's important. I agree with them completely. Here's an article that's worth reading along those lines. It's a bit to lengthy to cut and past here, but in my opinion it's really worth reading and considering before throwing stones at the other guys team. "Texas Scold 'Em."
Sadly Matt Patchan was shot this weekend, apparently a bystander, but should be OK. He won't be the last kid who's shot either I predict. I remember Matt because we were hoping he'd come to ND.
Thanks PJ, I agree. It's not drawing much traffic here but hopefully some of our folks who like to throw stones or drive by shoot will read it and digest even if they aren't commenting. Terry, there were actually two people shot, the other was a high school team mate of Patchen. Both are ok. I can't find the link right now though. It does seem that they were at a park and nothing going on and some guy drew a gun and started shooting.
The Vol site list didn't pop right up, but the Fulmer Cup is awarded by everydayshouldbesaturday.com. Regarding Jamar Hornsby they write "That’s three points times two for each felony charge plus the bonus point for using a dead girl’s credit card the day after she died and with one bonus point for it being a Florida Gator and therefore homer-shameful to us personally, and we take that to eight points for Florida, putting them on the big board in a fashion so tacky no amount of exponents can cover it." which gives me the impression they're Gators.
Yeah they are Gators over there, but its one of the better college football blogs on the internet. They don't stick to just Gator Football. BTW I wonder what Mizzou has done in the offseason to garner 21 points.
It is a good blog. While they're pretty even-handed overall, naming a dubious award after a rival's head coach is definitely going to cause more animosity and reciprocity than simple curiosity. 8)
LOL>..they are Spurrier fans there. You remember the guy who used to routinely make comments like you couldn't spell Outback Bowl without UT and something to the effect that the Tangerine Bowl and those "Orange britches" belonged together!! Spurrier delighted in poking Fulmer and the Vols with a (verbal) stick back in the day!!
