Cards tied for best record...2.5 game lead on the 1908 and pending Cubbies....cubbies gettin' smashed as we speak 7-0.....nothing could be finer than to be in Bugaha in the morning....
Husker <t>Yes I am very pleased with the Redbirds to date. As is always the case when St.Louis stays away from injuries like last year they usually are alone in first place. So far so good but I saw something last night I still don't believe and that is the two throws from centerfield by Rick Ankiel. Try and find the clips to believe what he did. One throw was two steps deep on the warning track to cut a runner down on the fly and the other one was three steps in from the track to nail Taveras who leads the NL with 14 stolen bases at third. Both throws on the fly and inches off the ground. I never saw Mays or Clemente do that and I saw many games they played versus the Astros in the Dome here.<br/> Long season but a good one so far.</t>
OMG!! REDBIRDS SCHMEDBIRDS...its the national league for god sakes! an all star team from NL couldnt stay with any AL club!!! Redbirds LOLOL!
I just looked at my calendar and it says May 7. Ho hum. As an aside, I love the way Ankiel is playing in the field and at the plate. It's a great story.
Sid, That's Krebsies favorite line. Let me give you one of Merts. The games you win in April (and May 7th) are the ones you don't have to worry about in September.
Good win for the Tigers, Gip. I stayed at work to listen to the finish. The drive home seemed longer tonight.
Was at the game. Sox came back from down 4 twice. Youk hit 2 monster HRs. In fact, in the 3 games in this series the HR totals are Sox 8 Tigers 0. What a powerful rally by the Tigers in the 9th, a checked swing single, a booted grounder to short, a bunt and a broken bat bloop. I'll take it the way things have been going.
