With 13 laps to go I had all four in the top 15. First Tony Stewart wrecks with 13 laps to go, then Jamie McMurray and Michael Waltrip wreck on the final lap. And the wife wonders why I drink .......
It would have been well worth it too... It was a very exciting last 20 laps to be there in person and watch. I don't know what tv coverage showed, but one of the best parts of the race was afterwards. Kyle Busch came around to the start/finish line and started smoking his tires... and next thing you see Michael Waltrip heading straight for him doing a whopping 4 mph. His hood was smoking and everyone thought he was coming to have words with Kyle. Not at all though... he just wanted to finish the race. He crossed the line at 2 mph and made it just far enough to get his car turned around facing back towards the pits and then the car died. He got out... took a bow... and started pushing his car back to the pits by himself. The whole crowd started chanting "Mikey, Mikey, Mikey". It was 300 feet of pushing the car and waving at a chanting crowd before the fire truck came to put out his smoking engine. Awesome. Truly an incredible race! Can't wait to go back next year!!!
