It's this weekend at Whispering Pines for those of you in the area!! :)

The Aggies have a good shot at winning it, partly due to the play of my nephew Matt. Who fortuneately for him stayed away from my advice as he was growing up!! :)

Here's an article on it and Matt.

Terry, it's time you learned a new phrase.
You've heard it before, but now you need to use it in support of your nephew.

    "WHOOOOOOOOOOPPP!!!!"

Is it acceptable in the Big 12 golf tournament to be standing next to the green as the other schools' players are putting and to let out a loud, "Beat the hell out of (insert school name here)"?

Terry, that's great news about your nephew.

Ag's are currently in 3rd place as a team , nephew Matt is in 8th place individually and he has the low score for the team.

On another note he was name All-Academic 1st team for B12 Golf.

I walked the course today with Matt, he started off great and then started losing his driver left and got into trouble later with a couple of water balls that cost him several strokes, he also got into a little trouble on a couple of the par 5's that were birdy holes with some errant drives. But like most of us it was the short game at critical times that hurt, he just couldn't put his 10-12 footers in the hole. If he'd just holed about half his birdy opportunities he'd have been even for the day, even with the water balls.

It was interesting to watch these kids, they are gonzo off the tee for the most part what seperates them from the PGA guys is short game, short game, short game.

It was a long course almost 7500 yds today, and hilly, tons of sand and water as well. But a beautiful walk in the park!!

He shot 77 today, but is still in the top 25 at #17 (out of 60 guys). Soooooo Close to being in the top 10. ...short game. :)

Well Oklahoma State ran away with the tournament. Matt finished #21 out of 60 and #2 on the team, Ags finished 4th. Disappointing for them they really felt like they had a shot at winning the tournament. But their #1 and #2 players did not produce, Matt outplayed both of them and they are both going to try to get their Tour cards this summer.

From what I heard from my sister today putting woes did him in again. Can't putt, can't win...it's never any different is it!
