Besides Tiger and Vijay I like Ogilvy, Scott and Harrington. It looks like Retif is beginning to find his game but I don't think he's all the way back yet. Ya gotta root for Fred to make the cut. I hope it doesn't go to a playoff on Sun. I'm flying to Arizona at 7:30.
You can't make a contender list without Tiger of course. Phil hasn't really played all that well so far this year, although he does have a win I think. Vijay has a new putter so that's worth something. Those young Aussies are also very competitive. Going to seem odd not to see Davis Love III out there. Freddy played well at the Shell Houston Open so I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the cut. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with a top 25 finish.
To me the Masters signifies the arrival of Spring and warmer weather following our mundane winters here in central Ohio. Agusta National is one of the most beautifully landscaped golf courses in the country, with a lot of tradition. While Tiger always seems to be the odds on favorite, nothing is guaranteed. I hope to see a tight finish with several in contention following Amen corner. Don
Trevor Immelman went low again today another 68, he's got an 8 shot lead on Tiger...of course Tiger hasn't hit the course yet today. But still. I see that Phil is -3 for today through 10 and -4 overall, if he can maybe go -5 today start to like his chances.
ABT <r>My best hope is...ABT...Anybody but Tiger...please..........I'm tired of it already...tiger this, tiger that, tiger, tiger, tiger...geeeeez <E></E></r>
Looks like one player in the Masters field is able to score better than Tiger when he's got only one good knee. Maybe he should play blindfolded.
I wonder why Tiger didn't get that done after the end of last season? Since this is his 2nd or 3rd scope of that knee, you have to wonder if physically he'll be able to hold up well enough to overtake Jack and Sam Snead.
I'm not sure that this should be considered serious. A scope cleaning every 5 years is not that unusual for an active athlete in any sport. He'll walk out of the operating room. The month layoff is probably to allow him time to get his game synched back up to what he considers an acceptable level.
