It was a great week for me Bob. I've pretty much stuck with the same lineup every week whch means in a few more weeks I'll have to make major changes.

I dropped Stewart in favor of Edwards. If anyone has a grudge against a certain driver, just let me know and I'll add him to my roster for you. :x

If I had kept Stewart, I would have had the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 9th place finishers. Oh well, I still had 314 points for 3rd place this week and a lead over Carl Becker in the overall standings!

Now if I could sustain more that a 1 hour nap before going in to work tonight...

    jeez

<t>I dropped Stewart and Junior. Had I kept Stewart and Junior that would have given me 3 top 5s. As it is, I still had the winner. I need to check and see how I placed for the week overall.</t>

I dropped Biffle and put Kahne in at the last min...cost me lots of points...but you never know.

I did the same thing Stu, but I also dropped Johnson and started Gordon so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I stopped changing drivers after my original selections 2-3 years ago because I seemed to get burned every time. I just started making last minute switches again this season.

Tom: I'm glad you've pulled ahead of your colleague, now go rub it in!

My pick for tomorrow's race: the rain. If what's going on in Nashville today stays cohesive, the rain takes the checkered flag on Sunday. Monday though... you don't want my picks... anything can happen at Bristol.

I'm happy to report that both weather.com and accuweather.com both have it as party sunny and 57 for today. This is one of my favorite race tracks. Cars can go from 10th to 1st in a matter of a couple of laps. There are usually a lot of wrecks but few really serious because they aren't going nearly as fast as they are in most races.

Thrown in Tiger vs. Vijay, NCAA conference championships and selection Sunday and this promises to be a great sports day.

Guess I can't even get that pick right... I had Kurt Busch picked with Jeff Burton on the bench... like I said, at Bristol... anything goes.

Last year's spring Bristol Race was my first race and it was awesome... definitely a whole different experience than Talladega (which was my second race and I'm going back this year too.)

I found this article to be very interesting, esp given the amount of money that goes into R&D at places like Joe Gibbs racing.

After a week off life is back to normal. King Jeff sits on the Martinsville pole for the seventh time in his career, and someone I've never heard of, Aric Almirola qualifies third. Good job to Stu and Tom for selecting him, you both got three bonus points. I've only had one 300 point week thus far this season and I'm hoping to double that total tomorrow.

I'm headed to downtown DC tonight to get a glimpse of the 2008 Washington Nationals and their new ballpark. It's located in what was one of the worst areas of the district (it's the local govt's attempt to revitalize that area), so if I'm not here tomorrow just assume the worst.

Bob, when I was 15 my Babe Ruth League all-star team (Yes, Terry, I was once an "all-star" ) won the New Jersey state championship and went to DC to play the Mid-Atlantic regionals in Griffith Stadium. It was a thrill to play in a major league ballpark, but it was in a terrible section of the city. When we practiced there one evening, our manager parked his car right next to the entrance. When we came out it had been broken into. I can recall being nervous as we drove through that neighborhood at night.

    Hi Sid,

Griffith stadium pre-dates me by just a couple of years but the stories I've heard are much like yours.

Nats Park is a thing of beauty. I don't think it matches Oriole Park but it's damn nice. The scoreboard is huge, the sightlines are incredible, and it's more fan friendly than any stadium I've been in yet. One really cool design feature is that all of the consession stands, restrooms, etc. are on the outside walls of the concourses so the field of play is always in view.

As for the race, congrats to Gator Bill for this week's top score and for increasing his lead. For me personally; I'll take 276 points on a day when my "C" list driver finished 41st. That could have been disasterous.

Bill picked 4 good ones and has not changed them since. This is good and bad. After 3 more races, he will have to choose a whole new set of drivers. This may continue to work for him... it may not.

There are no guarantees, but Gordon typically runs better towards the end of the points chase than the beginning. I have 9 races that I am planning on using him where I hope to get the maximum points. Junior has hurt me in 4 out of 6 races. He usually runs better toward the beginning of the season but not this year. He has been in some bad luck situations. I'm about to kick Kyle Bush out for inconsistency. He has been running with the philosophy of "Wreckers or Checkers" too much for my taste.

There will be at least two changes in my line up next week. Couldn't get any worse... could it?

Man I just saw that crash McDowell had, that was amazing that he just walked away. I know it's not practical for all of us to drive cars with NASCAR technology, if for no other reason most of us wouldn't wear the harness and crash helmet.

But that said I hope someday consumers have cars that will take that sort of punishment and let everybody walk away.

    Last week was interesting...

    I had 3 of 4 in the top 10 (Kyle B., Dale, and Vickers)...figured I'd do ok...

Well guess what...just about everybody had Kyle B., Dale, and Vickers...everything depended on your fourth guy (A pick)...mine was Carl Edwards and he crashed...I lost ground to most everybody.

My son Chris had all four in the top 10...plus he was there at the race.
