Wow... the later start to the season really brings conference play up fast! From what I've seen of the Aggies so far we have a lot of talent, but it still needs a lot of polish. Our pitching staff is VERY deep, which is key, but we are giving away far too many runs with errors, and bad decisions. If that can be corrected, the Aggies will be a tough series for any team. We get the Tech-tards at home to start. Hopefully we'll get the house in order and whack 'em!!
Scott, At the college level, or any level for that matter, I'd rather have deep pitching than a bunch of big sticks. If you can correct the fielding and decision problems, you will be tough to beat.
Irish suck, we got killed by Az over the weekend. If they had a mercy rule it would have been invoked. I don't follow things close enough but there is some concern that with the new coach, that he is in way over his head and doesn't have the staff to help bail him out. Texas is loaded with MLB prospects,we'll see how things develope. We've played a pretty good schedule so far...lost 2 out of 3 to Stanford though.
The Vols will find out a lot about our baseball program on the 14th, 15th, and 16th. LSU comes to Knoxville for a three game series.
LSU coach Maineri, who was the ND coach, is a very good coach. Maybe no Skip Bertman. I miss him at ND, when he was with us I didn't appreciate what a good coach he was.
I'm not sure how long he has been at LSU but I don't remember us having a good series against them all the way back to the early 90's. LSU has been a traditional powerhouse in Baseball!
I'll be pulling for you Tom!!! Of course, if L$U was playing Hell I'd show up in the stands wearing a red cape and carrying a fake pitchfork!
