I guess that Hillary slept well last night, her campaign finally got a couple of wins, but here is the reality. Obama still has won more states, more pledged delegates, and leads in the popular vote. HRC still has more Super Delegates and remains in the race. And her pledged delegate gains will likely be lost after Wyoming (Saturday) and Mississippi (Tuesday). So she's the comeback kid, the poster gal for lost causes, etc. But due to the way the Democrats divvy up the delegates, she still has a nearly impossible task of overtaking Obama. I was listening last night and even if the Clinton Machine can strong arm the DNC into finding a way to give Michigan and Fla seats at the convention, she's still going to come up short in the popular vote and the elected delegates. If the Clinton Machine strong arms the Super Delegates into thwarting the will of the people who turned out and voted, then I think it'll fracture the Dem party and alienate esp the black voters. Oh yeah and one more thing...."THANK YOU OHIO"... Terry
Interesting Hillary quote: Clearly an attempt to continue her attack on Obama as not being qualified to be president, by implying that he'd be a good Veep.
I was rather surprised that Hillary won in Texas. Delegatewise she did not gain materially. However, it can be said she stopped the 10 state momemtum of Obama. Mathmatically, she cannot win the the delagate count, but she can create chaos in the party which these wins can extend to June and cost millions. Hillary is now talking about her wins in Michigan and Florida and does not want the voters in those states to be "disenfranchised" as she says. I think her last minute ads questioning his preparation to cope with national emergencies and his behind the back contact with the Canadians telling them his harsh rehetoric re NAFTA was just political maneuvering which Hillary leaped on as "naftagate" were a big factor especially in Ohio, where NAFTA is anathema.
I read where 20% of Ohio voters polled actually admitted that race played heavily into their voting decisions. And today I saw an ad that featured a photo of Obama whre his skin color was noticably darker than usual. The Clinton campaign is reportedly behind that one. I think Obama is an empty suit but don't ever sell those Clintons short when it comes to lies and deceit.
I see now that the Bumbling Buffoon that we have for a governor has now realized that among the many consequences of her stupid insistance of our primary move is the lack of representation of Michigan delegates at the convention. The dumb bimbo insisted on moving the Michigan primary up so that it could be "more relevant." The national Dem committee was against the move and so told her that if Mich. moved the primary there would be no campaigning in the state. She did it anyway. First of all, Michigan hotels and restaurants missed out on all of the extra business brought in when the candidates, their staffs and the media hit a state. Then there is the hundreds of thousands of media commercials that occur during elections. Hillary was on the ballot but no other candidates were. Obama supporters were forced to vote for "uncommitted." Didn't see too many "UNCOMMITTED AND PROUD" bumper stickers. Now there's talk of maybe another election or caucasing. That's expensive. So here's a state that is reeling under the shrinking auto industry and the deflating housing bubble and this stupid gov has us throwing away money to cure the disenfranchisement caused by her stupidity. As I've always said you get the government you deserve. So we have this idiot in Lansing who ran against a businessman who talked about creating more jobs. She ran against the Bush economic policies that hurt Michigan. The unemployed voters of this state bought her crap. The state is more and more becomming unemployed losers and now has 2 Democratic senators and a Democratic governor. Perfect, the more they screw up the state's economy, the more Democratic voters they create.
I see the Dems winning this election by a resounding 65-35 % type result no matter how they stack the ticket.....Obama on top or Hillary on top. That is all thanks to George W.....and Dick ...and if I were John McCain I would run like hell from the incumbent's endorsement....
We'll see. You have the staus quo in Mccain vs. the totally unqualified in Obama and the completely untrustworthy in Hillary. It's hard to believe that, with America in such turmoil, this is all we can come up with.
I don't profess to truly know enough about the Clinton's to know if they are trustworthy or not but together they do offer a tremendous wealth of experience. I would imagine that Billary has a pretty good idea of how to assemble a cabinet and one thing about Hillary is that I think she has integrity with regard to making the very best of her chance at the presidency should she get it. Obama may feel that same way but I have to wonder about his experience.....but then again W was just the Gov. of Texas and all you guys thought he was the second coming....
Let's see the last three Democrat presidents have been a. The Gov. of Arkansas b. The Gov. of Ga. c. The Gov. of , ahem, Texas So who's it going to be, the Senator of NY who was elected after her opponent withdrew after being diagnosed with prostate cancer or the Senator from Ill. who's opponent withdrew after his wife put in her divorce papers that he took her to sex clubs? Maybe. After all, they couldn't possibly get elected because they are really qualified or talented enough. Hell they're such piss poor candidates that they can't beat each other.
MCG, Do you remember that Hillary was put in charge of working out Bill's healthcare plan during his first term? She only had 8 years to do one job... well that and round up hookers for Bill. From what I hear, it is a good thing that she wasn't successful. Go talk to any doctor or nurse. Ask them their legitimate opinion of the direction she was leaning and will be leaning if she is able to do anything about healthcare. We will have doctors going back to school to find something better to do.
My healthcare costs have risen 300% since W took office. In Billary's 8 years they maybe went up 40% if that.
Both Hillary and Bill flat out refuse to make their tax returns public and always have. Do you still have questions about their "trustworthiness"?
MCG, what is worse than rising costs? I'll answer that for you. Decline in services. Hillary wanted what equated to socialized medicine. Ask Canadians how well that works after they wait forever for the most basic of services.
What I remember is just like gas prices once the Clinton administration took office there began a serious pressure from the oval office to keep medical and fuel costs in check and those industries acted accordingly. I don't have the energy to get in a long debate again on these topics but both have had a rampant and seemingly unrestricted run up of costs during the Bush administration. I am more than a little tired of seeing these things go unchecked or possibly discreetly supported.
More fairy tales......tell me again how the oval office keeps oil prices in check??????? Perhaps in the world of the black helicopters and little green men of the conspiracy theorists and the fertile imaginations of the loyal oppostion but not in the real world.
T I think that the Clinton strategy is to reduce the incredible demand for oil from China. We get them to reduce their oil purchases by giving them nuclear secrets. Oh and as for a new Clinton cabinet I can see her using her intelligent and talented buddies on Sat. Night Live.
Gip, I think you are onto something.....I had forgotten about the Clinton's extraordinary China connection. Their meteoric rise as a strategic threat to our global interests happened to strangely coincide with the Clinton presidency. No doubt the most strategically signigicant accomplishment of his administration.
MCG can't see the forest for the trees. He thinks that the cost of healthcare is the only problem. When you socialize medicine, medical advances will end. Brilliant minds will move to other fields. The issue he had with his leg: He went to a doctor. He received medical treatment. He is now better for it. I damaged both knees. I toughed it out until I had to be on a walker because of the right one. I had both of them replaced, two years apart, and now have complete 100% mobility. Both of us would have been on waiting lists for treatment. I have been pain free since 6 months after the second knee was replaced. I would probably still be on a walker under socialized medicine... make that Hillarized medicine. MCG wants the prestige of a Corvette with the payment of a Chevette.
Gip, this goes back 10 years, but I recalled that a huge donor to Clinton had persuaded him to transfer restricted satellite technology from the state dept. to commerce in order to by-pass these restrictions. I googled this and came up with a New York Times article which stated that Bernard L. Schwartz, chairman of Loral, the firm which wanted to export this technology to China was a the $1.3 million donor. Bill would do anything for money. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9903E3D61F39F937A15756C0A96E958260&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=all
So right you are Vic. I can't believe that anyone would use the word integrity and Hillary in the same sentence. She's just a little sensitive about how much she and Bill have been making. Notice that she has refused to make public her tax returns. She "is quite busy" these days. Of course she has enough time to be on Sat. Nite Live but doesn't have time to call her CPA??? Oh and when she ran for senate in NY she insisted her opponent make public his taxes. Here's how her aids handled it
