I hope that the title of this article does not prove to be an omen. Tennessee needs only one more win to clinch the outright SEC championship as long as Vandy does its part and beats Mississippi State tonight. I would like for us to win out to solidify a bid for a number 1 seed in the dance.

The Gators would like nothing more than to reverse last year's roles when Tennessee beat the eventual NC Gators. I will go on record to say that if the end result is guaranteed, the Gators can have this game... just give me the NC! We have South Carolina at home in 4 days to get that one more win. If Mississippi State wins out, we get them on the tie breaker with this one more win.

So Tom do you own one of those Orange Blazers that Bruce Pearl wears at Kentucky and Vanderbilt games? :)

I wonder if that 151 has anything to do with the proof of the drinks contained in the back pocket flasks in Neyland?

Vandy kills me... They are letting Mississippi State out play them in that Nashville home court. If Mississippi State wins out, we still only have to have one more win out of two games. We control our own destiny… Just win Tennessee… Just win.

27 - 14 Gators in the first 8 minutes. We could be waiting until next game to see who wins the SEC. Well, back to class. I hate teaching night classes while a Tennessee game is being played. I did schedule a lot of troubleshooting for tonight so that I could check scores on the Crackberry.

Florida is on fire. The game in Knoxville started similarly. We'll see if they can keep it up.

Very similar to the first game in the first half except Florida has stayed hot longer. I hope the second half is not like the first game where the Vols outscored the Gators 60 - 34.

    Go Gators.

The Gators can't play much better than they did tonight, build a 16 point lead in the first half, come back from a 10 points down in the 2nf half to tie the game with about 2 minutes left but come up three points short to the Vols.

Tennessee is just to much for the Gators this year and our chances of going to the NCAA tournament don't look real good right now.

Congratulations Big Tom, your team is very good and got a well deserved win tonight.

That rebounded missed freethrow by Tenn was a real killer.

    It was the ballgame essentially.

Hopefully the committee looks at how well UF played vs. Vandy and then tonight's game as well. Of course a win over Ky or a win in the SEC tourney would be good also.

Dang Gators... I had to call Emergency Response Team out twice to restart the old ticker. Pearl must have chewed some big time A$$ at half time. I want to see the second half once I get home tonight... er, uh, make that tomorrow morning since I will not be home until around 02:30.

I knew it was going to be tough tonight with Florida fighting for their tourney lives. I didn't know it was going to be that tough. Good game Gators!

A good effort by Florida but they just don't seem to have the depth to play with Tennessee for a full 40 this season. They're not a bad team and I think they will be a very good team next year. I think you have to believe that this Tennessee team is very, very special.

The special part is that when the starters come off the court, there is not much of a drop off with the back-ups. I am at watching the game with 4 minutes left. That 14 - 0 run was beyond belief after the Gators shot lights out in the first half. JaJuan Smith was the catalyst for that run.

That last part about keeping their cool is why I think UT wns it all this year and is my easy pick for national champion.

Next year Florida adds some serious talent and beef in the frontcourt and then the Gators will be back in a big way.

Enjoy your championship this year...... :D

MCG, I agree that the SEC championship will be tough to come by next year. Calathes is a great guard and will only get better. That Gator team is good. On the other hand, I wouldn't count Tennessee out either. They lose two very key components in Jajuan and Lofton. However, if Tyler Smith chooses to come back and play another season, the pieces are there to be very competitive again. Tennessee also gets some nice pieces in recruiting. They'll just need someone to step up and shoot the ball. I also like UK next season. Contrary to what I think a lot of Kentucky fans believe, Gillespie is a good coach, IMO. He'll have Kentucky a perennial NC contender again if they give him enough time. Enough looking ahead, this is the year for the Vols!!
