    1. Suspend him without pay until the NCAA rules.
    2. Forfeit or postpone the next game.
    3. Have tryouts today.
    4. Players who quit lose their scholarships. Send them a tuition bill.
    5. Replace the AD who hired that clown with Robert Montgomery Knight and swallow the grenade.

    Gip, I agree with you on 4 1/2 of your 5 points. Replace the AD but forget about the General. The only way he will return to Bloomington is in a casket with his butt facing up so they can kiss his a-- (his original comment from a poem he once read aloud after a BB game in Bloomington about how he wanted those who don't like him to see him in the casket).

    Sid do you think IU fans would ever forgive the players for walking out? They might not like Sampson at this point and wish him gone, but I can't imagine them feeling very good about players walking out.

    Of course my guess is that if Sampson is suspended or fired, that he (Sampson) will have a long talk with the players and tell them he doesn't want them walking out for his sake.

    Simply put, it would be a disaster of historic proportion both in Indiana and in the college BB world. I sure hope it doesn't happen.

    What a mess.

    IU is in serious trouble with the NCAA since they knew that they were getting a bad apple when they hired him. My suggestion about hiring the General was a way of showing that they were getting someone in there that plays by the NCAA rules and it is sort of self-flagellation by hiring him back. Who knows maybe the NCAA will think that is punishment enough. :D

    IU...

    <t>Needs to run Sampson and any player that wants to walk help them out the door yesterday. This is something you may see in the NBA but IU needs to get in the faces of these ingrates.</t>

    I'm not ready to horse whip the players. These are good young men. They are 18 to 21 yrs. old. They are the victims of an emotional firestorm caused by Sampson himself. All they know is that they love their coach and they don't see the situation objectively. They see their coach being - in their young and emotional eyes - crucified.

    You guys who are hundreds of miles away can look at the situation in a different light. I live in the middle of this mess. I think I understand how the young men feel. On the other hand, they need to grow up NOW and face this decision as men.

    I hope good sense prevails. The student-athletes will regret for the rest of their lives any form of insurrection. In response to Terry's question, I believe that they would never be forgiven by the vast majority of IU fans. Someone with credibility in their eyes, likely Sampson himself, needs to make them understand the dire consequences of what they say they are going to do.

    IU

    <r>Allright, allright....whooa now boys....take it form me, the players will not walk out and they will do just fine the rest of the season. The rest of the coaching staff is more than capable. <br/>
    <br/>
    Remember this is IU......the University has no shame to bear as far as I'm concerned. Sampson was the one making the calls. How can you possibly put the guilt on the University. He's gone, case closed. <br/>
    <br/>
    Go IU, win the Big 10 and then another NC! <E>:D</E></r>

    Corey, I think I know what the "f" stands for. :wink:

    What do the "n" and the "m" stand for?

    Sid, I read it as "never mind"...as in a deleted post...Corey's smarter than me.

    Strong opinions could be a minefield here...I just hope IU gets this resolved ok.

    Iverson: "How the hell am I going to make my teamates better by practicing?"

    There in lies (one of) the difference(s) between he and Michael Jordan. Jordan was known as a terrific practice player, who worked tirelessly to make sure that he made his teamates better through practice. I wonder how many NBA championships Jordan has compared to Iverson!!

    It is my impression that Lebron has those same qualities, Terry...

    Will be interesting to see what the Cavs do with Wallace ans Szerbiak...Wallace hasn't been playing as well this yr. but maybe the trade is what he needed.

    The long state-wide nightmare is over! Kelvin took the money and ran! Good for him! :twisted: Ya gotta count me as one of the guys that was saying from the "git go" what the hell were they thinking when they hired him? Dakich will do ok......but I still have a fondness for S.A. 8)
