Jay Bilas Calls Out Illinois Fans' Behavior vs. Indiana

    That's the kind of behavior that could cause a serious incident and perhaps even injuries.

    It's also the kind of thing that makes me wonder where civility has gone. Cheering for your team, even booing the refs and the other team is one thing, but chanting cuss words and having a player bump a player from the other team is over the top in my opinion.

    The refs are in a tough spot, but if technicals don't do it then ejection of the offending player would be in order.

    However I don't know how you reject a crowd.

    Sid,

    I also read where fans were throwing cups of water and Gordon's mother was forced to retreat closer to the Indiana bench for protection.

    My thoughts are with Gator Bill in that fans seem to think they can behave as they please, along with the price of admission.

    Sad for all athletic events.

    These events do seem to be occurring more frequently. Washington State beat Arizona State in Tempeehole recently and the one-point game ended on a no-call by the refs. The crowd was howling for a foul and began throwing things on the court.
