Well I started rehab for my leg today. I'm going three days a week and am expected to do my homework exercises every day. I can see it's going to be kind of tiring but if I want to be up and around again I guess I am going to have to work hard. I still have 5-6 more weeks with this removable cast but most of the exercises so far are with it off. I also had a MRI of my shoulder which is probably going to need surgery for a torn rotator cuff, I'll know more about that my next appointment with the doctor. If I do have that surgery it won't be until I'm able to get around better. My goal is to be ready to bowl again come August and to go on a camping trip using my 5th Wheel the last week of June. Hey I know this isn't sports related, except my bowling of course, but I thought I would give a report.
That's my goal Don. Of course it's not my only goal but it's one I can concentrate on and put a date to! Besides, I love to bowl!
Hey Don, then of course there's football season, the Gators open up with Hawaii and Miami at home and I have to be able to walk about a mile across campus and to the top of the stadium to see the games.
Hey Bill... call a limo service to pick you up and drop you off at the stadium. It's fun to watch the people trying to guess who you are.
Terry, I can probably run a 4.3 forty after the rehab. That is measured as 4.3 minutes right?
Not a lot Terry, but some. This year the biggest snow came about 2 weeks ago. It came exactly when one of our daughters and her family came here to go skiing. The were here about 4 days and it snowed a lot, they have two kids 13 and 10 and they had a ball in the snow. Our front yard slopes enough where they could slide down the hill on a sled. They were also able to build a nice snowman and fort. It was great timing.
Hey jif, sorry about not getting back, what do you mean I haven't seen rehab? Finished my 5th session today. I have a program that I'm supposed to do at least 2 times a day. So far I've managed to do that and I'm making progress. The @#$! knee is stiff stiff stiff but I get it to bend a little more each day. In a week and a half from 30 degrees to 65 degrees, but the progress is coming slower.
I think I was referring to rehabing my brain, Bill..after Pats loss!!! Thats REHAB :!: :!: lol :!: :!:
Bill, Keep up the good work. My doctor has had a different approach wrt to rehab. My leg was in pretty good shape on my last visit wrt to atrophy etc. and I agree with his assessment that with a quad injury rehab can be tricky unless the physical therapist is very careful with the routine. My doc says leg lifts repetitively are fine but he also says to walk.....which I have been doing a lot because of my job in the auto show business. In the last month I have been in Wash. DC, Chicago and San Fran walking around convention centers and it has helped considerably to strengthen my leg. It is still a long ways from being right as I favor it going up steps etc. but I take it one day at a time because I don't want to re-injure. Good luck with your rehab....and enjoy that 60 degrees in flex....it makes a helluva difference.
Dave do you ever make it to the Houston Auto Show? I always go if for no other reason than the babes showing the cars!! The blonde doing the Lexus exhibit this year was a 10!!
Joel, did you intend to say "teeth"? Maybe the misspelling reflects what was really on your mind.
