Otto Graham! Lou Rymkus who was an OL on those teams was the first Houston Oiler head coach and I actually met him a couple of times. He had twin sons who were my older sisters age and she dated one of them for awhile.

That was pretty sweet (not that I remember first hand) for them to have taken the scorn that they weren't good enough and come into the league and dominate it right off the bat.

I felt the same way when the old AFL teams started playing the NFL teams, I wanted every AFL team to win each game. I had always loved Vince Lombardi but after the Packers beat the Chiefs in the first Super Bowl he made some derogatory comments about the AFL and that was it for me I never liked him after that.

That first season in the NFL the Browns won the Championship beating Los Angles in the final. Another criticism of the Browns was that they were only a passing team. I believe that came from the coach of the Eagles, when the Browns played the Eagles the 2nd time that season the Browns won the game something like 13-7 without throwing a pass.

I think the Browns either won the Championship or appeared in the Championship game the first 6-7 years they were in the league. Paul Brown was a great coach.
