If the NFL was like College Football team and only two teams made the playoff the Giants wouldn't have been there.

If the NCAA had a Div 1a playoff with more than two teams then Georgia would have made the playoffs.'

However neither thing is true so things are what they are.

    I agree, Go Giants.

They won 11 straight road games. They won in frigid temperatures in Green Bay. Some pansy schools never leave their region and then cry about the rules.

OK guys... TB makes an obvious joke with the title and then posts something positive. Lay off.

You know TB, it is situations like this that are food for thought. A playoff will give us a champion based upon "who gets hot during the playoff." As long as you get into the playoff, you could lose regular season games badly and still be the champion.

A prime example would be last year's Tennessee team. We could have lost badly to Florida and Alabama and still possibly made it to a playoff game. We were playing good football toward the end. If we had run through the playoffs like the Giants did, would we have been accepted as the champion or would there still have been an asterisk beside our name?

Don’t get me wrong. I think a playoff is the way to go but I can see that it will still raise question marks in some situations.

    Tom,
The best part of the playoff is that, like the NCAA Basketball tournament, all of the arguing about who is No. 1 can be stopped by the fact that either you do it on the field or you don't. Of course the 66th team always thinks they should be in the field so there is still something to argue about for the hardcore.

With the NCAA basketball tournament do any of you follow the Top 25 rankings very closely? I hardly ever look at them anymore, in a lot of ways they are not very relevant.

I guess the rankings are relevant only as a predictor of the seedings.
