I've seen several posts to this effect, thought I'd start a dedicated thread....it's a shame these young men make some of the decisions that they do.....Torrence was a fine talent and I'm sure he'll end up somewhere.....at some point.

COLUMBUS Stark County football will be on the outside looking in when Ohio State announces its 2008 recruiting class a week from today.

The Buckeyes have pulled their full-ride scholarship offer to Massillon running back DeVoe Torrence, a source within OSU's program told The Repository on Tuesday night. Sources close to OSU's program confirmed the offer had been pulled.

Ole Miss lost a QB recruit today, he was recently arrested for selling steroids...dumb, dumb, dumb.

JACKSON, Miss. -- A quarterback who was to sign with Mississippi on Feb. 6 has been kicked off the team because of an arrest for selling steroids.

Jared Foster, of Madison, who played last season for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, was enrolled in classes at Ole Miss and was informally working out with the team. He was scheduled to formally join the team on National Signing Day and would have been able to practice this spring.

The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson reported Foster's arrest Monday on its Web site. The school announced that Foster was off the team in a one-sentence release but did not say why.

"It's a shame," Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt told the Clarion-Ledger. "But we're trying to build a football program and that's stuff we can't tolerate."

Foster was arrested in Oxford and charged with selling steroids after an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

Madison County Sheriff Toby Trowbridge told ESPN.com's Mike Fish that that Foster was observed selling steroids to a "confidential informant" three months ago, before he left to enroll at Mississippi. Trowbridge said Foster was arrested in Oxford, about 150 miles north of Madison, and had bail set at $5,000 by a judge Tuesday. He said an indictment is expected to be sought against Foster when the county grand jury convenes next month.

Trowbridge indicated the sale that led to Foster's arrest did not involve any athletes. As for whether Foster may have peddled steroids at either his former junior college or Ole Miss, Trowbridge said, "I don't know. I can't tell you if he was selling it in any schools he went to."

The arrest wasn't Foster's first. He was charged with simple assault last year and pleaded guilty in Canton Municipal Court.

The Gators lost one also, Chaz Sutton DE from Georgia. His was due to academics. Actually we lost two players from the same school due to academics, Franklin Green RB.

It's a shame but it happens.
