If everything goes right this big cast on my leg gets removed tomorrow and one of those strap on casts gets put on. That will give me some more freedom, but I still have to stay in it full time, with a few exceptions, for 6 more weeks. Wish me luck.
Gator Bill, Good news indeed. I think I would be climbing the walls by now if I were in your shoes. Do you like to read to pass the time of day? One can stay online only so long. Don
Bill that is great news. You will so enjoy the opportunity to remove that brace when you feel like it....( when remaining very still of course ). Getting the cast off was huge for me so I know you can't wait. I am in Chicago and my leg is still in a weakened state and I have to be careful but hey...I drove to Ft. Wayne from Detroit and then to Chicago from there so at least I am getting around. I believe I am headed to San Francisco on Sunday so that long flight should be a test. Good luck.
Great news Bill, that leg that's been in the cast is probably going to look like it's not yours when it first comes out of the cast!!
Thanks guys, I know I'm in for a bit of a shock tomorrow but am still looking at it as progress. I think the internet has kept me from climbing he walls, a lot of the time I just sit here with my laptop and surf. It helps that it is recruiting season and the Gators seem to be putting together another great class.
Bill..do you have a LAP TOP TABLE? They are great..put the lap top on the table..and the legs slide right in under the chair you are sitting on...brings the lap top right over your lap so to speak.
Xbox360 Bill!! I got one for Christmas, and my wife has been complaining about being a widow! It's really amazing how far the graphics have come on these games... heck I'm playing in Hi-Def!! Unfortunately (like the Franchione Aggies) I can't play a lick of defense on NCAA 2007 football!!
Thanks for all the advice guys. The dog has gotten used to the wife taking her out and that isn't likely to change for a few months yet.
Missed this topic yesterday. Just don't over do it. Do whatever your doctor says for exercize and don't push the envelope. Setbacks can happen.
Well I'm back, the immobalizing cast is on and I start therapy on Monday. I was surprised that I can put weight on the leg and walk stiff legged as long as the cast is on and only around the house for now. I'm a little tentative about putting weight on it so far though, and it wore me out because I actually had two doctor appointments this morning so it's time for a nap.  I will watch my step guys as I don't want to go through this again.
