I think you are kind of struggling here but avoiding the topic of this post Corey. Who should have won the Heisman and why? Your opinion that Florida has a bad defense while true doesn't seem to answer that question.
No Bill <t>I was addressing Terry's concerns. I don't buy this 'that was a whole different Michigan team out there' case for excusing Tebow's performance in comparison to Dixon's.<br/> <br/> And as to the kid from Tech...<br/> <br/> that would be the first time I've ever read Terry soliciting the opinion of Tech fans...especially as being knowledgeable or expert on anything.</t>
Man do I despise Mike and the Mad Dog. There are not any sportscasters on the planet who do less research, nor are there any 2 who are more arrogant. As I think you guys probably have figured out, I am a die hard NFL fan so I definitely think I have a good gauge on what type of player will make it or not in the NFL. Tebow, right now, would never make it as a QB in the NFL. His size will not be nearly the advantage it is now. That being said, I believe if he works hard in the offseason with a solid QB coach to work on passing mechanics and how to read defenses, AND stays in college for 2 years to continually hone those skills he will have a very good shot. What I've gathered from seeing Tebow on the field and in his interviews is he is a bright and determined guy. As long as he doesn't sit on his laurels with what he's accomplished so far he can be great. In contrast, and not really even having to do with the bowl game, I really don't think Brennan will be successful in the NFL. Last night we saw what a true defense will do to a team running the Run and Shoot style offense. It's an offense that will make just about any QB look incredible when facing average or even above average defenses. Problem is once you face a real D where the LB's are much faster and the DB's are far more physical, you tend to get what you saw last night. Now I'll give Brennan the fact that he had no time to throw most of the night, but I just don't thiunk he would have fared much better even with reasonable time. The Run and Shoot is designed to call the play based upon the # of LB's/DB's are on the field. 3 or 4 LB's on the field dictates pass and find the mismatch. In the NFL the mismatch is almost never nearly as pronounced as college, nor do you have nearly as much time to find it. I'd love it if he proves me wrong because he is a good comeback story, but I just don't see it with him.
I dont agree <t>Im not sure about Brennan but that has to do with his arm strength.<br/> <br/> what we saw in the bowl game was UGa using 3 and 4 down while dropping everyone back into coverage...If Hawaii had ANY TYPE of running attack, UGa can't do that.</t>
What were Mike Hart's stats in that game? I believe he went out early with an injury and Michigan pretty much went into a shell and they were still in a funk after AppST anyway. That was definitely not the same Michigan team we saw yesterday.
I believe the Michigan team that played yesterday is the team that coulda, shoulda contended for the NC if they had gotten the season started on the right foot. They had a chance to atone for their disappointing season and they took full advantage of the opportunity. It was the 2007 team's finest hour. Not that many bowl teams can say that they played their best football in their bowl games.
Hands down Todd Boeckman. If last years Heisman winner deserved it, so does Todd. Like Smith he Led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship Beat Michigan Have them ranked no. 1 Have them playing in the BCS Championship game. And unlike Smith he didn't have two NFL first round draft picks (Ginn and Gonzales) to throw to. Oh yeah, Smith had something else, ESPN blowing smoke that he was something special.
Bill...... one question....Am I allowed to change votes? If so, I'd like to second Gippers pick. I like that one better.....
Why certainly Terry. I'm kind of waiting to see if the guy who started a topic about how voters should wait until after the bowl games to vote because Tebow didn't deserve the award has anything positive to offer! Tell you what we will do Terry we'll give both your votes a point for now.   I think I'm about to change my vote for who wins Monday to Ohio State! Still thinking it over.

And let's not forget that on a day when the Michigan offense was essentially without Henne and Hart and had very little time of possession to help their worn out defense that Boeckman led his team to a Heisman like 14 total points. Wow....that sure dwarfs what Tebow did leading his team to 35 points against a very inspired Michigan defense on a day when the Michigan offense was healthy and humming up and down the field.
MCG, the topic was who should have won the Heisman, have you voted? If so I missed it, if not why not? Let's keep it positive for whoever you are for. I'll make a tally in the morning.
Yeah, on a cold day in Ann Arbor Boeckman won. And on a warm day in Orlando Tebow lost. And just how big a loss was Hart who pissed away at least 14 points yesterday? Hey Boekman beat Mich. with one of those slow overrated Big Ten teams and Tebow lost to them with one of those lightning fast SEC teams. No contest.
You live in Detroit and you question what Mike Hart means to the Michigan Wolverines? He had 129 yards rushing yesterday and he hadn't fumbled in 1000 touches before a UF defender made a helluva play knocking the ball loose when he had it pretty well protected.
Hey gipper I don't remember if you made a vote for Heisman here or not. I'm going to tally in the morning.
Hart is a big mouthed clown. He ripped Harbaugh claiming his wasn't a "Michigan Man." Of course when Harbaugh and his Stanford team beat USC in LA everyone knew that. A "Michigan Man" would have rolled over like they did last year when Hart was playing and like they always do.
