    During Florida's last 4 games the Gators averaged 51 points per game and now this article discusses how they just might be better on offense next season......and that is a pretty scary thought:

    uhm

    <r>your last 4 games were against:<br/>
    <br/>
    -Vandy<br/>
    -South Carolina (a team that had been dead in the water for weeks)<br/>
    -Florida Atlantic<br/>
    -Florida State (the worst FSU team I can remember seeing)<br/>
    <br/>
    Got anyone who can tackle? <E>;)</E> If not that's ok, my Irish don't have anyone who can do either. Your offense was good all year...well except against Auburn.. Auburn drops off the schedule for you next year and I believe you replace them with Arkansas. That will be interesting.</r>

    Corey's points are true and well taken. However I do expect Florida to be a better team next season. First the defense doesn't lose much and we've played a lot of true freshmen this season. I expect our defense to take a quantum leap next season'

    With a better defense the offense would more possessions which make a potent offense more potent. As the articles says we don't lose many play makers, but may lose Ingram who hasn't made his decision whether to go to the NFL or not. The biggest thing that is going to happen to the offense is that we should have a much better situation at running back. Our current starter at running back comes back next season and could be running 3rd string.

    Hey isn't it the great thing about football that we have a season from Sept to early January, then if you are a recruitnik you follow that until mid Feb, then spring practice in March. However then comes the long dry spell from March utnil practice starts in August.

    <t>I see the SEC next year coming down to UF/UGa in the East and whoever survives that cage match known as the SEC West.</t>

    Point well taken on the last 4 opponents but FSU played decent defense most of the year if nothing else....ask Colorado, Bama and Matt Ryan.

    SC was at Columbia and FAU won it's conference and it's bowl game.

    Vandy's strong suit most of the year was....defense.

    I look at this article and something tells me Florida should be rolling on offense vs. Michigan if they are ready to rock next season and be an improved offense.

    If Michigan is playing inspired the Wolverines will keep it close on their offensive side because defense can be UF's weakness. I expect UF to play better defense next year but they may not be showing that much of it against a healthy Michigan offense.

    My 41-31 prediction still looks good.

    yes and no

    <t>yes, you should roll Michigan pretty bad.<br/>
    <br/>
    As for those teams those.. Florida Atlantic was AWFUL defensively. Florida State, that game came at the end of the year.. FSU was finally dead in the water. Their Admin couldn't stand in the way of the 'investigation' anymore and you knew that was weighing on them.. But on a more 'football' related note..<br/>
    <br/>
    FSU was terrible on offense.. the teams they played couldn't make them pay for that terrible offense. Florida's offense is great, no doubt.. As for 'ask Colorado or Matty Ice'... Colorado was also shut down by Arizona State, Kansas and Missouri.. oh, and Alabama didn't do too poorly against them last night. BC is BC..<br/>
    <br/>
    South Carolina's defense was terrible and gutted by the end of the year. And Vandy is Vandy.. <br/>
    <br/>
    Still, you guys put the numbers up and you should handle a Michigan team without any real leadership or incentive.</t>

    I fully expect the Cap One bowl to get out of hand early.....I don't know what the line is, but it ain't enough.

    The Blue defenders got schooled by Appy State and Dixon and the Duck spread, one can only imagine the carnage that the Gators will bring with young Tebow at the helm of that offensive juggernaut.

    That said and conference loyalties as they are, Go Blue!

    I have to give props to the Michigan offense until the Florida defense proves otherwise.

    Cmon now MCG....sounds like you're hedging to me.

    If your Gators are as good as you've been telling us they ought to light up the Stripehead defense like a christmas tree. Let's not forget this is the same team that gave up over 600 yards of total offense to Dixon's Oregon Ducks - Dixon accounted for 400 of those - was down 32-7 at the half in the Big House before Bellotti called off the dogs. If Dixon can guide his offense to 600+ in the Big House, surely Tebow and his Gators should go for 800+ in Orlando? No?

    If the Gators don't blow these guys out, I'd call for an investigation. :wink:

    Does anyone know whether an ACC crew has been assigned to officiate this game?

    BT....I don't believe I have varied from that premise.

    It's defense for UF vs. offense for UM that equalizes things a little bit.

    I have been pretty realistic in my assessment of the game but as usual that annoys you.

    For a guy that has always claimed to understand a lot about football this has to rank as one of the most ridiculous statements of all time.

    Even a non football fan understands that the Gators downfall this season was our defense.

    But hey, when one's major goal is just to insult facts don't need to get in your way do they Tailback?

    Hope you had a happy new year.

    :lol:

    MCG man, that condition - realism that is -occurs so infrequently on these boards how could you possible know that it annoys me?

    :lol:

    I'm getting ready to spend the day watching a veritable plethora of wonderful college bowl games, the weather is gorgeous, I do not have a hangover, my family is healthy and I'm getting ready to head to the Big Easy to play golf and watch my alma mater play in the national championship game for the second year in a row and the 3rd time in 6 years......there are not many things that are going to annoy me.

    Best of luck to your Gators in Orlando. Go Blue!

    BT....if you don't think I am realistic when it comes to Florida then I don't believe you read my posts and care to understand them.

    But that is your choice....you choose to disagree which is par for the course.

    By the way Gameday is making a big deal as I write this about the 0-8 bowl record OSU has against the SEC. Note ESPN Game Day is making a big deal of it....I'm just reporting it.

    Good luck in NO.

    Excellent....I hope they repeat it daily for the next 6 days! I hope that they did not at the same time mention that LSU has never beaten us?

    Now THAT would annoy me..... :lol:
