    I watched Miss. St. and UCF today withmixed emotions. On the one hand UCF was the feeder school for the Community College where I taught, and also that's where I went to get the credits I needed when I changed careers to teach math at the college level, so I have a soft spot for them.

    On the other hand these days I root for the SEC team because I figure when the conference does well that benefits my Gators.

    However the really deciding factor for me was Sylvester Croom, I am so glad to see he is putting a decent program together at Miss St, he's a class act in my book who I am glad to see succeed.

    So I came down on the side of rooting for the Bulldogs.

    And the won.

    Here.....

    <t>Was one game I had ZERO interest in and the score indicates I missed nothing by watching college basketball instead.</t>

    Actually Larry I enjoyed the game. Miss State has found ways to win this year even when they couldn't mount much in the way of offense.

    But I understand why the game wouldn't interest a lot of people.

    It did me though.

    Croom beat Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and won his bowl game. This is the guy they wanted to get rid of? If they give him enough time to develop an offense, he could create major problems in the SEC. His defenses are outstanding...

    sly

    <t>is a good man in an area surrounded by the shadiest characters in the college game. anyone who pulls against sly, is incapable of rooting for the good guy.<br/>

    the biggest mistake alabama has made recently is passing over croom..<br/>
    <br/>
    he has nothing..literally no resources. there is GREAT talent in the state but its small in number...Ole Miss has the $$.. Alabama and LSU regularly take what they want.. Auburn as well. He's left with cow money and grass farmers.<br/>
    <br/>
    if mississippi state ever lets him go, they might as well take the bulldog out back and put a bullet in his head too.<br/>
    <br/>
    btw, UCF's RB ran roughshod all over texas and the kid was on the verge of breaking the single-season rushing record... Miss State shut that kid down.</t>
