    There's a good possibility that Robert "Tractor" Trailer's auntie bought him the car.

    I wouldn't be so hasty to indict DMac for anything but bad judgement and timing at this point....there are a great many bankers throughout this fair land that would give DMac a loan to purchase the new Escalade just on his good name. Trust me.....one of my greatest career moves was, while working at a Washington DC area bank, to lend Lenny Bias $75,000 to buy a new car within days of his untimely death......unsecured. Oops.... :oops:

    yeah

    <r>not a lot there unless he played it stupidly. he can get a loan on name which is fine by the NCAA and you figure he'll be able to defer payment for a few months... and then pay cash on it easy.. <br/>
    <br/>
    let's hope its that.<br/>

    How did Len Bias end up at your bank? Maryland boosters, Celtics referral??

    What kind of car did Len get for 75K, that was awhile ago and I doubt even a Benz was that expensive.

    He'd bought a Nissan 300ZX, so he had a lot of money left over.

    Maryland was just up the road in the DC suburbs and, more importantly, we were the lead bank for his management group/agent - if I recall correctly he was with McCormick and IMG and they sent him our way as they typically did most of their talent and besides that, we grovelled alot. It's been 20+ years but I seem to recall Lenny had his eye on a shiny red Ferrari, but I could be wrong about that...! Hell, I forget what I had for lunch if I don't write it down these days...
