Merry Christmas to all (two days early). Cindy and I are in Harrison, Tennessee (a suburb of Chattanooga). On Christmas day, we will be in Pelham, Tennessee, otherwise known as the technology black hole of the South! Our travels take us to Nashville from the night of the 25th until we leave for Tampa on the morning of the 29th. We will be in Tampa for the bowl game from the 30th until we leave to make the trip home starting on the morning of the 3rd.
Merry Christmas to all....everyone knows Santa is a Buckeye. Why else would he wear scarlet? Here's the proof......
Merry Christmas to you all. Got to spend the last few days with all the kids and grandkids. But the way it should be, all the young ones are headed for their homes where Santa is due. For us Christmas was last night. Hope yours is as enjoyable as ours was.
Merry Christmas to everybody...Susie and I are in Orlando this year visting my son Jeremy, his lovely wife Carey, and our first granddaughter Abby. (And Jeremy's gracious inlaws who are putting up with us as well). I feel like I'm starting a third stage of "Christmas Traditions."...We had the ones when we were kids with our parents and grandparents...then we established new traditions for Christmas with our children growing up. Now with 3 of our parents gone, my Dad in a retirement home, our three boys, their wives, and our 2 grandchildren scattered to Nashville, Lexington KY, and Orlando, the new traditions seem yet to be established. Over the past four years we've spent Christmas Day once on a cruise ship with all the kids, once on a ski trip with the family in North Carolina, and twice in Orlando. This is the first year we haven't gotten all the kids together at the same time...but we're traveling around visiting them over the season. I'm not sure why the ramble...but it just seems strange...when I was a kid I would never have thought of adults that are my age now missing their parents and grandparents as much as I seem to during the Holidays. I hope that God blesses all of you and that you have a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season...and get to spend treasured times with the ones you love that will last with you always! Jeremy & Abby:
That was a wonderful ramble, Stu. I am glad you said all you did. You got me thinking of the three stages of Christmas celebrations in our lives. For the first time ever, because we now have a home in Indy near two of our three kids and our nine grandchildren, we had Christmas Eve at our home. It was chaotic and fun. Always in the past we had to stay with one family or the other and have Christmas Eve at their homes, then get out of town on Christmas Day to make room for the other inlaws. Today, Christmas Day, we will travel from Indy to South Bend to celebrate with our third child who is expecting her first in March. We plan to make a Christmas Day visit to the Grotto on the ND campus. It looks like the weather will cooperate.
Travel safely... Wow...nine grandchildren...that's neat! Having just two about breaks the bank when Grandma hit's the children's stores.!!
