Wow! This is the untold story of why a guy would leave his alma mater. According to the comments by the boosters, who seem to be respectable and smart people, they could have kept him for a relatively small amount of monetary commitments. It sounds like the academic types might have let their stubbornness be their undoing.

If these allegations prove to be true, I think they can kiss the 4 Million buyout good bye!

Getting nasty. I think Gerry DiNardo tried to sue Vandy to get out of his buyout when he left for LSU. I believe he lost.

    DiNardo is an asshat

<r>if half of what is listed in that article is true, RR's got a case.<br/>

If that unmet 'wish list' is true, then I can't see a reason in the world to defend or pity West Virginia. That's awful... Either you want to be Division I or you dont. I am fairly sure though that the textbook for profit thing is illegal. Other than that, it didn't look like too much to ask for...<br/>

i thought it was a joke at first because of the name, instead it turns out to be the 'passionate' side of West Virginia football fans.</r>

I wondered what the heck was going on. Rodriquez was born & raised in West Virginia, played HS ball there and walked on at WVU as a player. It was his dream job and usually guys can't be bought out of something like that, unless their name is Neuheisel. Looks like the folks running the Mountaineer athletic program are bound and determined to be the next Appalachian State...
