Beginning next season the Big Ten Conference will add one more week to their football schedule. Each team will have one bye week. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/bigten/2007-12-11-schedule-change_N.htm Beginning in 2009 our big rival game with Michigan will be played the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Don I see some solid reasons for this move. BTW it's not going to happen next season but the one after. It cuts down the time betweent the end of the season and the major bowl games. It seemed like OSU was off 2 years before the BCS Championship game last season. It also allows for more games for the new Big Ten Network. Just as a bye week increased the number of football sundays for the NFL, this increases the number of weeks that the BTN will be showing games.
Very true and it will also eliminate straight twelve weeks of football, which is a real drag. Makes sense me as well. Smith our AD and Tressel were against the move, because the team now will not have a real Thanksgiving break. Don
