Fukudome Era comes to Wrigley.

Cubs sign the Japanese Outfielder to a 4 year contract. But how good could this guy be if the Yankees or Red Sox didn't offer him at all?

This is no doubt to counter Astros signing of Matsui, Cubs didn't want us to have the edge in Japanese players!!

This is interesting. I hope it turns out to be a good move for the Cubs. There certainly have been success stories (Ichiro, Dice-K, Hidecki, etc.). I would much rather see the Cubs spend $ on upgrading their pitching, but I guess that's not part of the program this year.

I thought that they were putting a roof on Wrigley and Fukudome was what the folks who rent out the roofs across the street were calling it.
