I guess this is a good deal for shareholders as I'm sure they will be able to deliver the same service level but with fewer people so the bottom line will be enhanced. Will this result in lower phone rates? I guess it depends on the VOIP providers and can they be the competive balence that will restrain price hikes. Terry
VOIP is the answer to lowering normal phone line charges. If everyone that had VOIP available would utilize that service, AT&T, Verizon, SWB, etc would have to become competitive. I do not have VOIP available. Satellite Internet has a delay that does not work with VOIP. As soon as cable or DSL is available in my area, I will take the plunge.
So now Ma Bell is buying back pieces of her old self. It may not be progress, but things are moving in the right circles... .........JO'Co
